Dr. Keith Allen Breiland, MD

Dr. Breiland prescribed a medication for dispense for which my insurance company required prior authorization. The pharmacy sent Dr. Breiland at least three faxes and two emails with the information he'd need to submit with no response. When I finally demanded to speak with him, he kicked it back to the insurance company and said they were unavailable but he'd try back the next day. A week later, I tried to reach Dr. Breiland to no avail (the front desk folks at SBHI will always quadruple screen calls and will not transfer you directly to the doctor). He never returned my call at which point I finally called the insurance company to see what was the hold up. A WEEK AFTER DISCHARGE he still hadn't contacted them and the pharmacy could not cover the medication without the approval. The lack of attendance to urgent matters, in my opinion, reflects a lack of compassionate care for patients once they're released from his watch.

Dr Breiland treated our son through the office our insurance sent us to. He was always apologetic if he was running behind and did his best not to be. He took time to listen to our concerns, discussed meds and any changes that he felt were needed was explained to us with all the whys and where fors. He is happily now his Dr again in the rtc our son been admitted to. He rememebered our son when he saw him after a year. We feel confident in him and would recommend him. He is very laid back which is nice after the stress that goes along with mental health issues that the patient and their family face every day.
