Dr. Keith Dean Holmes, MD

Dr. Holmes treated me for a problem with my jaw. He was compassionate, thorough, and an excellent physician/surgeon. I highly recommend him to anyone needing an ENT.

Dr Holmes was polite but he resolutely ignored everything I said and every symptom I mentioned. I went to see him for a chronic runny nose which is draining into my lungs and impacting my ability to participate activities such as running. When I told him that I get sinus pressure and can press on my sinus cavity to drain it he said that it was not fluid but vascular pressure, ignoring the fact that I feel the fluid draining down my throat and can blow my nose and see the fluid. He checked my sinus cavity and said it was not clogged, ignoring that I had told him it drained constantly unless I was laying down. When I told him that I cannot lay on my right side due to my left sinus cavity draining and blocking my airway he stated that the left and right sides of the nasal cavity do not connect. This is factually inaccurate and something I would hope an ENT doctor would know. Once he had guessed as to the cause of my issue, the trouble breathing during running (he ignored the constant… runny nose) he set out to prove his guess that it was asthma (which magically occurred after my sinus surgery without any other symptoms of asthma) and continued to ignore my input. After several tests refuted his guess he stated that he thought I should see a pulmonary doctor. This doctor ignored everything I said, made a hasty diagnosis and set out to prove it instead of listening to his patient and investigating the symptoms. I should have transferred to a new doctor after our first appointment when he ignored everything I told him, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Several appointments later he has done nothing but waste my time and order several tests which did nothing but make their clinic money. His lack of medical knowledge is shocking and his absolute refusal to listen to patients borders criminal neglect.

I would like to say that getting an appointment was a problem at times but Dr. Holmes was a caring physician and took good care of me during my first few visits and my surgery. I had problems with the billing department as well. I keep on with sinus problems and I was scoped every visit and I was charged over $300 for the scoping plus my copay and this was every two weeks for several months. I was bounced back and forth to an allergist and his office with no relief as he said it was allergies and the allergist said I needed an ENT. I decided to go to another ENT in a different town and on the first visit was told I needed surgery and so I had surgery. I was told the first surgery I had by Dr Holmes did not work. I have gotten so much better since I changed doctors. I paid so much for nothing ...I even heard him say only for office visit to the nurse and not for scope but was billed $300 for it. I am all better and will not ever go back to that office again.

I will be going to another ENT doctor/center due to the fact I am never able to make an appointment when I need one.

Ihad just written a long comment on Dr. Holmes and while correcting it I lost it. Now I will say he is a wonderful surgeon, he will keep looking out for you even when his part of your care is finished. I had called around Macon to all the nurses I knew then they called all they knew. The answer always came back to Dr. Holmes. Whatever your problems are he wii take care of you in a very proper manner. I have had to deal with many doctors as a nurse in hospitals, offices, and as a patient. In my opion you could not do better in any catoergy of any kind. May God bless you and may you have good health.
