Dr. Keith Ralph Kuhlengel, MD

I have had two spinal surgeries by Dr. Kuhlengel and may need more. It isn't that he isn't the VERY BEST NEURO SURGEON ON AT LEAST THE WHOLE EAST COAST, still I have a progressive bone disease which affects my spine and this man has kept the feeling in my legs. Some may think the surgery not successful because I cannot dance around HOWEVER, other doctors in the Harrisburg area predicted I would be bed bound before graduating high school and this terrific surgeon showed them wrong. Now I am 61 and the arthritis (diagnosed when I was 3 years old) in my spine progresses but Dr. Kuhlengel has helped me so much life is still a joy and worth living. I could go on and on about what a great surgeon he is and how the neuro surgeons around Harrisburg cannot hold a candle to him, but I think you get my meaning. Keep up the fabulous work Dr. Kuhlengel and PLEASE do not retire without giving me plenty of notice!!! Janis L. Wagner

Dr Kuhlengel is the best Neurosurgeon I found compared to my past surgeon Dr Garrido, who retired and I can no longer see. I would recommend Dr Kuhlengel over and over!!! Keep up the great expertise and time you take with your patients!!! You are sincerely the best!!! Thank you.

I called to get my husband an appointment with Dr. Kuhlengel after being highly recommended to him by one of his previous patients. My husband has been through 7 back surgeries already. Called over a month ago to schedule an appointment. Spoke with his secretary who told me that Dr. Kuhlengel would have to "review" my husbands file. Called back to the office on 6/22/2017, over a month after I originally spoke with them. His secretary called me back and informed me that Dr. Kuhlengel is not willing to see my husband because he does not feel that he has anything to offer him. We have not even so much as met with the doctor to go over all of the issues, but he won't even give us the opportunity to schedule an office visit to discuss the problems. Very poor manners on the doctors part. Especially that he came highly recommended by more than one person.

Doc, keep away from old boilers, or take care.

Dr.Kuhlengel will make every attempt to diagnose your problem. He will go out of his way to take his patients out of pain and return them to normal activities. He hears his patients and listens to their symptoms and concerns. I will be forever grateful to him for giving me my life back. An excellent surgeon as well as a generous kind and caring man. I lived in horrific pain for 10 years before i saw Dr. Kuhlengel. When we met for the first time,he never dismissed the pain i was in abd was determined to find an answer.My problem was degenerative disc syndrome with the discs hollowing from the inside out. At this time this condition was only read in medical books and not very common. Dr.K investigated this syndrome and ordered tests to confirm. I have had to have several surgeries because due to this condition and he got me back to normal each time.

I have never felt more comfortable with any other Dr. in my life. Dr. Kuhlengel started seeing me with my first cervical spine surgery in 2001 due to an injury from a fall. He has performed 3 cervical spine fusions and a lumbar/sacral spine fusion on me and will remain the only Neurosurgeon who will perform any future surgeries on my spine. He is the best of the best, as far as I am concerned and I continue to recommend him to anyone with spinal issues requiring treatment. I should have been dead or paralyzed from my injury. Dr. Kuhlengel has given me my life back and I cannot say enough good things about him.

Dr. Kuhlengel is one of the best surgeons I have had the pleasure of dealing with! I knew exactly what I was dealing with, and he wasn't ready to slice and dice before he had all the tests done that he needed to. Very nice, and explained everything!!

Dr. Kuhlengel did emergency surgery on my daugter after her car accident. He brought her back from near death to what she has since become - almost back to normal already. Dr. Kuhlengel is our hero! We recommend him with the highest regard!

He did two fusions on me. Both neck and lower back. Aside from the excellent work He has the most amazing bedside manner. I remember my neck surgery in the or while I was on the table he held my hand until I was out:) He cares not only during but also the after care. The spinal fusion is a serious one with a long recovery at least for me having fibromyalgia but his staff makes sure I am comfortable and I am now 7 months out! They work as a team should and I have recommend several people to him who have seen him and agree how good he is. Thank you team for caring for me during this long process!
