Rude, sexist, kept alluding that my injury was "all in my head"/not as bad as i was making it out to be. Many times during the exam he was dismissive and even dismissed my partner's input about the injury/quality of life since the injury. Kept trying to blame weight, hormones, previous conditions for the current issues, which IMO was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He would bring up his skiing and what he was/has done vs MY treatment/lack therof. With an ego like that, he will do more damage than good to future patients -- especially those whose injuries are not "CUT AND DRY"

He was dismissive, rude, did not take the pain seriously, said the pain was “emotional”, became aggressive and lied in his notes. He was offended at being given notes from the physical therapist describing what was going on and said it was disrespectful to give him them. I would never go to him or your practice again.

Dr. Lawhorn was very kind and encouraging when giving me options of surgery after tearing my meniscus for the second time. He made me feel at ease and encouraged me that everything will be okay.

ORTHO VA is my go to office for my orthopedic needs, but this was my first visit with Dr. Lawhorne. I found him to be cordial and easy to talk with. His plan for my care always took my concerns opinions into consideration. I was very pleased with my visit

I fell off my bike and hurt my wrist. Dr. Lawhorn fit me in immediately. He was able to assess quickly any damage and make recommendations to protect the wrist for two weeks. After two weeks he assessed again. I highly recommend Dr Lawhorn. He has been our family orthopedic for years.

Thank you establishing an X-ray baseline for my shoulder injury. The cortisone injection has given full pain relief after a good night’s rest. The shoulder exercises will continue while at the beach!
