Dr. Keith W. Millikan, MD

Dr. Millikan was the expert we were sent to because of the difficultly of my husband's case. Dr. Millikan spent A LOT of time with us pre and post surgery explaining our options and setting our goals. The surgery and recovery met all of our goals and my husband's recovery was much smoother and faster than the two prior surgeries out in the suburbs to deal with my husband's hernia and infection issues.

Dr Millikan was very knowledgeable in his diagnosis. He was the only doctor who was able to evaluate my condition and treat it with 100% success. His staff was professional and thorough. Wish I could use him for all my health needs. Highly recommend him!

I was very disappointed that Millikin kept me waiting for an hour and still did not show. After I walked out he gave me a call, and he said that he had some sort of emergency, although his staff told me that he was just in a meeting. I asked why he did not call me in advance so I did not have to waste my time. He said he does not need to give a call when he has an emergency, or words to that effect. If "emergencies" are a major of his practice, however, that's all the more reason he and his staff should make sure that patients don't make unnecessary trips and pay unnecessary co-pays. His file notes on my treatment also did not accurately reflect what we had discussed a few weeks earlier. So, not only is Millikin a poor appointment keeper, but his is also a poor note-taker. He has no respect for patient time, and I'll find someone else.

Dr. Millikan was recommended to me by a friend who is also a surgeon at Rush. My experience was very positive. I had minimal pain for a few days and a quick recovery. Now, after 4 years, the surgery scar has nearly disappeared.

Dr. Millikan is knowledgeable and highly qualified in my point of view. I was extremely happy with him and the hernia repair he provided.Mine was a complicated case and this was my 5th attempt to rid myself of this issue which I had dealt with since my pregnancy with triplets. Dr. Millikan was able to remove all the recalled mesh (which took approx. 2 hrs) and then proceeded to clip the first set of oblique muscle on each side and pull those forward to create a whole new muscle wall. (7 hrs. total) I had less pain with this more extensive surgery than I did following all the other surgeries that I had prior!I will definitely recommend him to anyone who has struggled with hernias.

I had gastric bypass a couple years ago and was lucky enough to have him as my DR.Besides being a Sox fan( his only downfall) he was awesome. My wife and I both had this surgery done and he saved our life's.I went from 405lbs to 195lbs and have evened off at about 250lbs now and this was about 5 years ago.
