Dr. Keith Edward Penney, MD

I was denied treatment because I would not provide my social security number which these days is not a good thing. I was told that she needed it to give to the collection agency if the carrier for some reason did not pay them in full for their agreed upon amount. I advised United Healthcare about what happened and they filed a grievance ( a lot of good it will do) saying that was totally unprofessional and not what is supposed to happen to members of their plan. Apparently the office manager is Dr. Penney's wife and has an online history of being rude. Sure he is a good Doctor but I will never know.

With the retirement of my long time orthopedist I asked a few people who they would recommend. Each time: Dr. Penny. dr. Penny explained my upcoming knee repair surgery, explained how my diabetes would be monitored and taken care of if necessary. His entire office staff are friendly, knowledgeable. Dr. Penny and his PA both are willing to talk, explain, answer questions. Very pleased.

Dr. Penney is a fantastic doctor and I have no complaints about his medical performance. His staff is extremely friendly and very good at their jobs. Unfortunately I will not return to him because of the office policy of not accepting electronic payments. I understand the need to collect fees up front for pending surgeries, but in this day of FSA charge accounts most people don't have the cash available to pay for needed services and then wait until after the surgery to get reimbursed. If he did accept electronic payments I would still be an extremely loyal patient of his. I trust his judgement completely. Wish he would change the policy.

I found Dr Penny and his staff to be knowledgeable and willing to take time to answer any questions I had. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. He repaired my ankle that was broken and he did it that day for me. Very nice man and very knowledgeable.

My 10 year old had a cyst on the top of her foot. Dr. Penney took an x-ray then wanted to order a MRI. I felt that was not needed for a little cyst. Likes to rack up the bill. I should have read the other review for this doctor, she felt the same as I did!
