Dr. Keith Nelson Shrum

Keith Shrum D.D.S.
    Born in Lafayette, TN, Dr. Shrum still enjoys visiting the beautiful farmland of his parents in Macon County. Dr. Shrum has been married since 1988. He and his wife Sandy have two children. As a youth, Dr. Shrum enjoyed playing the guitar and piano, and was an avid model builder. His eye for minute detail and high degree of manual dexterity, coupled with his love for science, led Dr. Shrum to choose dentistry over other medical fields as his profession.
    Dr. Shrum attended Wabash College where he majored in Chemistry. He was a Dean’s List student while at Wabash and received a rarely given Commendation in Chemistry for his excellence in laboratory work. After college, Dr. Shrum attended Indiana University School of Dentistry where he was a Dean’s List student as well. Due to his excellence in Operative Dentistry, Dr. Shrum was honored his senior year by being chosen to help teach the freshmen dental students as an assistant instructor in operative …dentistry.
    Dr. Shrum continues to help teach others by authoring articles on such subjects as Endodontics and Tooth Whitening. Dr. Shrum also teaches an Adult Sunday School class and has kept active in his church serving in such positions as Church Clerk and Sunday School Superintendent. Professionally, Dr. Shrum in a member of the American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association, and Nashville Dental Society. He has served Nashville as a delegate to multiple state associational meetings. He is a member and past president of the Music City Study Club. He has received multiple ACE Awards for excellence in continuing education, taking advanced classes in Endodontics (rootcanals), Periodontics (gum disease), Prostodontics (crowns, bridges and dentures), Oral Surgery (extractions), Implants, and Cosmetic Dentistry.
    In his free time, Dr. Shrum enjoys golfing and spending time with his family.
