Dr. Keith L Turner, MD

I cannot recommend Dr. Turner. He was not professional in his dealings with us. He was insulting and very rude. If you’re looking for a capable and caring psychiatrist, look elsewhere.

I saw Dr. Turner for 6 years. I told him that I was depressed and he prescribed 100 mg of Zoloft for me. He gave me 25 mg of Seroquel too. For six years I told him that I was unable to function. He would occasionally switch my antidepressant to another one. During the 6 years I saw him he prescribed Zoloft and Wellbutrin for me. Year after year I told him that I was unable to function. Finally, filed for Social Security Disability. I finally saw my diagnoses as per Dr. Turner which were 1) Psychotic; 2) Paranoid personality; 3) Depression; 4) and several other serious diagnoses. Based on those diagnoses he should have had me on much better meds. Social Security sent me to their impartial psychiatrist who diagnosed me with 1) Schizoaffective, 2) A laundry list of many other serious diagnoses. DR. TURNER NEVER, EVER, HAD ME ON APPROPRIATE MEDICATIONS, AND I WAS TOO NAIVE TO KNOW THAT I WAS NOT BEING TREATED PROPERLY. I NOW HAVE A FABULOUS PSYCHIATRIST AND LIFE IS NO MUCH BETTER. DO NOT… SEEK TREATMENT FROM KEITH TURNER. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE. DO NOT SEE HIM.

Can it get worse? I had been improperly treated years before and put on Prozac. I became hypomanic, and someone referred me to Dr. Turner, who put me on a 2nd anti-depressant because he said Prozac alone can stop people from sleeping! When I said that I was increasingly irritable with my husband, it was because of menopause, so I should take more Wellbutrin, which I wasn't comfortable with. We went back & forth via my pharmacist because Turner wouldn't let me stay with the lower dose. Had 2nd bout of hypomania & switched dr's. It turns out I'm bipolar #1 with OCD, thus anti-depressants are highly dangerous for me.
