Dr. Kellee Rae Clougherty, MD

Terrible bedside manner. She started throwing around scary diagnosis's with my daughter WHEN I WAS NOT EVEN IN THE ROOM. She never even introduced herself to myself or my daughter. I called her before the appt to make sure she did ADHD testing and other learning disability testing and she assured me she did. We were looking for a non stimulant medication and her primary wasn't sure which one to give. She was very inappropriate with both my daughter and I. I wanted to get up and leave 5 minutes in but didn't want to be rude. I stuck up for myself and my daughter and told her that she should never throw around those terms so loosely and certainly NOT in the FIRST session! When she didn't like what we had to say, she went into a 10 minute diatribe of how sensitive she is and that our styles just don't mesh well. Really? Could have told you in minute one. She told us that we were both bipolar after talking with us for 10 minutes about my daughters ADHD. She said kids that… are not bipolar can put down their homework and get 8 hours of sleep every night! Really? Do you have AP kids? NO ONE gets 8 hours of sleep these days! So based on the fact that my daughter gets good grades and is studious and wants to do well and also has obligations to ASB that run into the night(therefore not getting 8 hours of sleep) you are DX'ing her as BIPOLAR?? AFTER 10 minutes?? She is so out of sync with the kids of today. When I confronted her about our phone call and wanting testing my daughter for ADHD that she promised she did, she said "There is no such test" RUN! I wish I had read this before going in. Waste of time. Thankfully I have a psych background and knew right away this was inappropriate and was able to assure my daughter that she did NOT have all of these other mental illnesses she was throwing around. What happens to the next person who is not aware? This could throw a child with anxiety into a complete breakdown. Or her parents. Maybe that's her goal?? Think if I was not aware and allowed her to prescribe bipolar meds to my child? I am panicking right now thinking about other parents out there who trust her because she is a doctor. RUN!

Dr. Clougherty helped me with my anxiety disorder for a long time before I stopped talking meds when I had a baby. She was not a psychiatrist that just wrote a prescription and sent you away. She took the time to tell me what books to read to help cope through panic attacks, she told me about apps that help with breathing exercises, and she always took extra time to ask about new things going on in my life and much more at every visit. She went the extra mile to make sure I was taking care of myself.

Kellee seemed great at first, but threatened to drop my daughter as a patient when we hadn't entered her into an out-patient program between appointments (a few days). We didn't even have time to look into the facility yet. The worst thing happened while meeting with my daughter, she brought me in and acted like they had a funny secret to tell me. She was giggling with my daughter, and the "secret" was that my daughter had almost harmed herself without my knowledge a few days prior. Completely inappropriate and dangerous.

Terrible doctor. We had such a bad experience. I wish I could give zero star. We saw her for our daughter for ADHD for a few months. She wasn’t able to answer specific questions about treatment or medicine and has bad bed-side manners. Her treatment approach and explanations were very confusing. Then, she found an excuse to tell us she wouldn’t be able to see us anymore. To sum up: Run away, not worth your time and money.

I brought my 8 year old daughter in for an ADHD evaluation, as the school counselor suggested my daughter may had adhd. I found Dr Clougherty to be very thorough in her evaluation. She spent a lot of time with us before the appointment over the phone, and then a lot of time both with me and with our daughter. We are considering medication, but she went over all our options, risks vs benefits and how it would benefit my daughter. I found her helpful and beneficial

I saw Dr Clougherty for depression and anxiety. I have had terrific results with the medication and Therapy. I find her courteous, conscientious, compassionate, and thoughtful. I had some slight stomach upset with the meds in the beginning, and she got me in the same day to discuss my care. I'm doing great thanks to Dr Clougherty.

Don't make the same painful mistake my family made. I thought all physicians got poor ratings posted about them...but the stern cautions voiced here could have saved us great anguish. We trusted Dr. Kellee Clougherty with the care of our teenager struggling with depression. Our 8 visit experience was so detrimental, I am compelled to share here the sternest of warnings! This psychiatrist was unprofessional, impatient, rude, superficial, disconnected and self-serving. Her real concern was only felt when we left. Even if Dr. Clougherty is the ONLY adolescent psychiatrist on your health plan, go out-of-network before wasting your time with this one!

She was able to safely get my child off medications. My child is doing great.Thank you!

I have been seeing Dr Clougherty for over a year now, and must say that she is at the top of her game.Not only did she get me off the medication that was causing me numerous problems, but she has been the one that has caused me to be much more in control of my life. Her practice is busy, and she has rules about cancellations. She has to! if you follow the rules that she outlines for her office, all will be good!

She was very unprofessional. Only spent 1/2 an hour with us on our first visit, which was a consultation. Did not take the time to find out all of my sons problems and dismissed him when he talked. As in the other patients review, we were charged for not.calling 24 hrs prior to cancelling. But we had. When we tried to argue the charges, she wrote a letter, lying we were non compliant, releasing us from her practice.
