Worst Dr. I have ever been to. This lady acts unprofessional and rude.

After my medicines of 15 years stopped working, Dr. Tolin helped me find a solution quickly! Very personable and never feels rushed.

You're reading this review because you need help, and you took the first step- reaching out... congrats! Save yourself time, money, and aggravation; skip Dr Tolin and this practice and find yourself a compassionate doctor who listens and doesn't live by the notion that others are stupid. I do not recommend Wake Psychiatry, specifically, Dr. Kellie Tolin. I got transferred to her because my previous provider at Wake Psychiatry went on leave. I confirmed with Wake Psychiatry staff prior to the appointment that my new provider (Kellie) would get my records. I was assured that she would because my primary primary provider was not sending the records to any particular doctor but to the practice as a whole. At my first appointment, she was unprepared and extreamly rude. She never "received" my records, nor was any knowledge transfer done, so I had to do intake all over again . During our session, we were discussing medications, and she "ripped the words right out of my mouth"… in regards to mentioning a particular medication. She said, "I'm going to nip this in the bud right here", implying that I was requesting or seeking out the medication (med seeking). Not only was sharply cutting me off mid-sentence extremely rude, but then when I questioned her about it she said, "the fact that you know of the medication is a red flag". This confirmed her behavior. I could not believe what I was hearing, for I was extreamly offended for being labeled this way. I have a complicated case and it is hard to get help because of subpar medical "professionals" like Dr Kellie Tolin. She is had to backtrack for her narcissistic, condescending behavior and is completely out of touch with reality. I can guarantee if we sampled society, the majority of our sample would know the class of drugs that she insisted was a red flag by knowing the name alone.

I arrived 10 min late for appointment. I came in crying I was so depressed. Let me say I was a long time patient. I told staff I was having suicidal thoughts. They told Tolin but she refused to see me unless she had cancellation . I waited for a couple hours. When she came into waiting room she refused to look at me. I was still crying. I offered to wait till her last appointment. She still refused. It is illegal to ignore someone with suicidal thoughts to go without calling for help. I was appalled at her callous actions. Don’t count on her!

I am former patient of Dr. Kellie M. Tolin, I would discourage others from seeking treatment unless you seek prescriptions only & no desire for actual wellness treatment. Otherwise she may exhibit lack of compassion for others, no positive code of ethics, very judgmental, condescending and consistently leaving you remorseful for expressing issues that maybe otherwise viewed as weakness (along with COLD & blank stares.) Clearly, wasting her time.

When I asked questions, I was "angry" She was, at best, cold and uncaring and at worst, snippy and mean.

I have been a patient of Dr Tolin's for a bit over a year and I leave there with feeling great after talking with her. It took patience and persistence to find the right medication therapy but we got it and I owe my life to Dr Tolin, without her I would not be here.

Dr. Tolin has always been attentive and answered all of my questions. Love that she is almost always on time. She recently went to bat for me for a medication prior authorization against my insurance company and fought with them until she got my medication approved. Great doctor. Highly recommend.

I don't change doctors easily and although I did not find her easy to relate to, I have been seeing her for five years, Two weeks ago I had a debilitating episode of depression. At these times, I cannot function. Those who suffer from it like me know that severe episodes create mental pain that you know is probably going to stick around for the next three weeks. She came to snap decisions about my diagnosis on the most tenuous basis. If a patient in a despressive situation forgets to tell her about one prescrption (which didn't cross over) all of a sudden she brands you as an addict. I must recognize that she is efficient and never late. I have never seen her smile in five years and compassion isn't her strong point. I ended up leaving in tears and anger. She didn't address my despressive crisis at all and I left her office in despair knowing that I would have to endure the torture I was currently enduring. I am a good person and in the course of five years of regular visits I felt… I had earned my stripes yet I always felt on edge. She seems to know her stuff but because she is so abrasive, many of her patients leave things out of their briefing because they don't want to fact her anger.

The demeanor of Dr. Kellie Tolin has been cold, uncaring, and extremely punitive and shaming every time I've met with her. While I've told her how my major depression, PTSD and anxiety disorder affect my daily life, she does not seem to care. She spends more time shaming me than giving me any credit for the things I try to do to improve my mental health. Unlike any mental health professionals I've seen in tthe past, I feel worse about myself during and after meeting with Dr. Tolin than before the appointments. I will try to get another, kinder and more compassionate psychiatrist as soon as I can.
