Dr. Kelly Jane Butler, MD

I have been a patient of Dr Butler for 19 years. I have always been treated with respect and felt if I needed to tell her something she would listen. I found out she is changing to help others in nursing homes. This has been tough for me because I do have to start over and trust someone else. She has helped me with my diagnosis and helped me with other issues along the way. In 19 years I have had no problems getting my meds in a timely manner except a year ago because of staffing. When Dr Butler found this out she corrected it herself. In the 19 years when I have struggled with losses or just something difficult she always made sure I was seeing a counselor and given the correct medications to help me through. I would recommend her to one of my own children or family members if they needed a psychiatrist.

The other bad reviews of Dr. Kelly Butler are not exaggerated. I have had the same experience. All of her good reviews must be fake, seriously. I have been careful to be courteous and well prepared, and not once has this doctor even been civil to me. She knows she has her patients over a barrel so she treats us like trash on an assembly line. Two different people on her staff warned me about how bad she is but I was still shocked. She is incredibly rude and dismissive. And often wrong. But she's in power so she thinks she is a god, making lots of money by running patients through her mill. She seems to enjoy being nasty. I've never seen a worse attitude in medicine. Another reviewer called her "a stupid Barbie doll," which is mean but that's how she makes you feel about her. The only reason any of us go to Dr. Kelly Butler is because we have to. Avoid her like the plague if you can go to ANYONE else. If you are forced to see her, I am truly sorry for you.

Helpful and easy to talk to

Office staff is very rude. Doctor does not spend any time talking with patient other than to write prescriptions; less than 2 minutes spent with patient on a regular basis. Doctor even becomes irritated when patient needs to discuss issues and ushers patient out the door without discussing issues/concerns. Neither doctor nor staff seems to truly care about the wellbeing of their patients. Trying to have prescriptions refilled via phone/pharmacy request is nearly impossible; taking days, even a full week, to accomplish (which is not safe or healthy for a mental health patient.) Trying to get paperwork filled out is a hassle, taking weeks and repeat phone calls. After years of dealing with this office, I would never recommend them to anyone. Horrible experiences!

Dr Butler is always attentive and caring about my condition and takes the time to always help

I have been going to PPS services for over 10 years. Over the last few years the service has gone way down hill. I have to wait days (sometimes a week or longer) to get my refills and usually end up waiting 45 minutes for a 5 minute appointment. I've currently been waiting 9 days for my latest refill. My pharmacy has faxed them at least twice.They have canceled my 2 previous appointments. The latter of which I made a month ago and the earliest I could get in was mid January. I shudder to think how long I'd have to wait if I rescheduled now. The medication assistants I've had to deal with are very rude. Whenever I call to ask about a refill they tell me to have the the pharmacy fax the request (when the pharmacy already has) or they tell me they faxed it already (when the pharmacy says they haven't). Since my pharmacy never has a problem getting scripts from any of my other doctors, I trust them. Also, the last time I was supposed to get my Lithium levels checked after they adjusted the… dose, they didn't give me enough meds to last the 7 days I needed. When I called the medication assistant to tell her I couldn't get my levels checked yet because my medication still hadn't been refilled she berated me like a child about not taking my meds regularly and not getting my levels checked yet. She told me she'd send the refill and then told me that I needed to get my blood work done and then call the hospital myself, get the results and then call them!Needless to say, I will be finding a new psychiatric practice.

misdiagnosed. condescending. actually got irritated with me for bursting into tears. perscribed me a med that costs more per month than my mortgage. turned out to be a simple food allergy. run from this one.

I've finally decided to find another practice after going to Dr Butler for 10+ years. My messages to her medication assistants are routinely ignored or answered days later. I often have to go for several days with out my medication, having to wait for the office to find out what meds and how much I should be getting. Today for instance, I left a message two days ago to get a refill for my meds, my message was not returned and now I will have to go the whole weekend (a total of at least four days) with no medication. If you suffer from a mental illness you know four days is a long time to go with no medication.
