Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:I grew up with medically needy siblings. Those experiences were formative. They made me want to understand the health system and care for others going through difficulties.What I want my patients to know about me:I am committed to providing evidence-based, comprehensive care to my patients. I'm happy to discuss our care plan to help families understand. Prior to WellSpan, I worked as a physician at a lactation center that provided me with more experience in this area. My experiences as a mom give me a more full perspective on the joys and difficulties of parenting. Parenting is scary, but its comforting to know that others have similar experiences. We are all in this together. I work nights and weekends to spend more time with my family but also to extend availability to pediatric patients.What I do when I'm not seeing patients:I enjoy spending time with my husband and three daughters. I volunteer in the community for their Girl Scout …troops, Girls On The Run training program and the Goddard School. I like to travel with my family frequently to historic sites and presidents' houses. Like many moms, I've learned so much from my children, who have sparked an interest in history for me. I try to read and cook (when I can find the time).
