Dr. Kelly Irene Slater, MD

Did not listen when my husband was complaining of some memory issues. We were both new to Kaiser looking for a good PCP. My husband starting complaining he was having some memory issues, 1 year layer, I decided to go with him to his appointment. I said there is definitely something off with my husband, he is forgetting conversations, names of people and his work was suffering. She finally referred him for a brain MRI and then Nuerology. That process was like 4 months. We never got to see neurology cause we ended up moving out of state. For 2 years at Kaiser was wasted time, he never was evaluated or taken seriously for his loss of memory. Once we settled in 4 months later, my husband was able to see a neurologist and with in 5 minutes of his visit, be says, you definitely have some memory loss and referring us to a medical research facility for clinical trails for Alzheimers patients. 3 months later, he was diagnosed with Alzheimers at the age of 64. We lost 2 years of possible… early treatment at Kaiser. Doctors really need to listen to their patients and family. members.

I wish I could give 0 stars for this Dr's condescending cold attitude towards patients. Her information was inaccurate for starters and we didn't even go over the issue I had. She asked all these questions not even relevant to the appt. It was ridiculous. I changed Dr's immediately and filed a complaint against her. She should be fired and after reading all of her other reviews I can see I'm not the only one that feels this way. I absolutely do not recommend this conceded dr. She should consider another career.

Horrible MD! She was my new family physician and the moment she entered the room and began talking, I instantly picked up a lot of negative energy. She’s definitely not a people person and just reads off of her computer screen. When I communicated concerns to her, she disregarded them. This was my very first appointment with her, I new it was going to be my last. I would NEVER recommend this lady!!!

Dr. Slater assessed my moms mental capacity based on the last time she saw her-with a UTI bacterial infection that affects your brain ,especially in elders, with symptoms of disorientation, confusion , and delirium. What is she thinking?! She wrote a letter stating my mom is mentally incapacitated-not true whatsoever. She must not know my mom as her aides or anyone who spends time with her does. So the mean family members, armed with this bogus letter, abducted my mom using coercion in the dead of night and now is out of state. Her home for 50 years is no more in a matter of a few hours notice. Absolute cruelty and abuse. Mom said “they forced me, they out powered me” The police did not send her back home based on this bogus letter. Unbelievably heartless. Dr Slater should know better, she did not want to take the time to assess my mom properly and consider the gravity of such a letter will bring-especially if it takes away your rights as did my mom. We will appeal, and no, Slater will… not be Mom’s Dr

This woman may be the most incompetent doctor I have seen yet. She has ZERO ability to listen to her patients, ZERO ability to bring up your x-ray to discuss with you, and if you question her about ANYTHING she is hostile, uninformative and outright dangerous. She plans to change my meds that work perfectly for me because I went to another doctor --- she rarely has appointments available when I need them -- and apparently wants go back to NOT treating me by returning me to the meds that DO NOT WORK WELL ever since she's been my primary doctor. God knows what she's put on my record, but I'll be dealing with that as well. I will definitely be seeing someone else. I can not wait until we elect someone who will promote Medicare for all so I will NEVER have to deal with another Kaiser doctor like Slater here, who unfortunately is the type of doctor Kaiser regularly hires.

Dr. Slater is my new primary care doctor. Although she works in a busy clinic I find her to be very patient and thorough and she makes me feel like she is listening. The office is very good about following up and on top of my care.

I'm not impressed. I think she only knows what she reads and doesn't really care about her patients. She will hear you but won't listen. Very medically robotic. No bedside manner. You're just a routine daily activity to this doctor like brushing her teeth. She's not attentive to a person in need, listening, or any real help. She'll just ramble what she's read. Which can be fine by any monkey on the internet. Her staff has been very . They make her slightly manageable.

She has an attitude when speaking to you and also speaks as if you're ignorant. She made me feel unwelcomed and my questions were stupid. The only star I give the dr is for seeing me and washing her hands before touching my child. The nurse on the other hand was informative, nice and very patient with me.

A visit with this doctor for a routine test, a FIRST visit with this doctor by the way, and she spent her time lecturing me and I left without my test. Now, if this had been my regular family doctor, someone who had known me for years, I could somewhat understand, but really...Her office assistant was also way too interested in my receiving prescriptions. Couldn't believe I was there and didn't want/need any drugs. Something fishy about that...
