Dr. Kelly Gay Thurmon, DO

I met Dr Thurmon when I was hospitalized at St Luke's Baptist in San Antonio. Dr Thurmon came in to see me the first night and told me that she would have to seriously review my case because no one could have everything I had and be alive. She contacted my PCP and spoke with him that same evening. The next day she spent an hour with me. We started discussing my health history and Dr Thurmon immediately said I had been severely misdiagnosed and started taking me off of some of the 21 medications I was taking. The next day we spoke for another hour or more and she told me what she thought was wrong and how overmedicated I had been. She continued to talk to my PCP to ensure he was in the loop. I immediately responded positively to the reduction in medications. We discussed next steps and though I still did not have a definitive diagnosis I was definitely on the right path. Dr Thurmon had me transferred to rehab to regain my strength. I only wish she was not just a hospitalist so I could… continue to see her. She took a lot of time (more than I have ever had a doctor spend with me) to discuss what she was doing, what she had told my PCP, why she was doing things, what she felt I still needed to do, how to achieve goals we had set, etc. Dr Thurmon was extremely professional, kind, caring and knowledgeable. She is without doubt one of the best doctors I have ever seen!

This woman should not be a dr at all!!! I cannot believe Peace Health even has her on staff. She does not know what shes doing and could care less about the patients or their families. Want to live? Make sure she is not your dr.

Not good Doctor!!! Stay away from her, no bedside manner, not good at listening to your symptoms, not good at finding out what is wrong, no caring attitude at all and doesn't care if you are in pain!!Do not let her treat you!!
