Dr. Kem Denice Frasier

I reached out to Ms. Frasier for individual counseling services in May. In my initial email, I asked if she accepted my insurance, she said no, she doesn’t accept my insurance. No big deal. Fast forward to November, my husband reached out to Ms. Frasier requesting couples counseling. Without prior knowledge that I inquired in May, he scheduled an appointment with her, we completed the intake forms and prepared for our first session. Her name sounded familiar as we were discussing session details, but I didn’t think much of it until the day before our session. After some research, I realized I recently inquired and was told that the SAME insurance I inquired about is the SAME insurance she’s accepting from my husband *first red flag*. We proceeded with the session, which seemed fine… until it became a situation where my husband felt uncomfortable. Her personal feelings and experiences seemed to have taken over, as I felt I had to withhold my thoughts to better manage/direct the… conversation (her job) *second red flag*. She talked over us, lectured my husband throughout most of the session, and seemed a bit combative regarding the topic we were discussing *third red flag*. The session ended, my husband and I agreed that we would try one more session with her. The day of the second session, Ms. Frasier was radio-silent. My husband made several attempts to contact her via email and phone call. Ms. Frasier responded via text, letting him know that she’s having troubles on her end. Looking for a solution, we asked if we could have our session via phone call or reschedule. We never heard back from her. Had communication been better from Ms. Frasier, we would have understood. However, we didn’t receive much from her, leaving us to feel frustrated, unsafe and confused. It’s unfortunate to be in such a vulnerable position, seeking support from someone offering supportive services and we’re left feeling disappointed and discouraged. I absolutely would not recommend Ms. Frasier to anyone, as she’s dismissive, flighty, untrustworthy, and unprofessional.
