Dr. Kenneth Wayne Smith, MD

I have read some of the things that have been said about dr smith I just wanted to say to some of the comments I have known dr smith for many years. I have been a patient of his also I was not able to walk for a few long time he is the most honest dr I have seen in a very long time he does have a way to himself but just think if you was in his shoes in the or many hours working to save some of your family members lives you may not feel like being so friendly and smiling with everyone that comes in his office eather now his staff I do agree could do a better job and return your call and help with making appointments I have had to go to the office to get my appointment every time not get one on the phone ever I think they want to know who they are given the appointments to . But he saved my Neice life he told me we need to pray because he didn’t think she would make it through her surgery and she is still with us today if you ever need brain surgery you only want this doctor on the case… this much I do know I would not let anyone but dr Ken smith touch my head if it was me that is how much faith I have in him I had to go to duke to get a cast put on my arm so I had my husband take me and we went and came straight back didn’t stop for anything to get back in time for her surgery because I wanted to be there when they took her down and we made it barely but we got back in time so I just wanted to say don’t make everybody feel like he is a bad dr when he is tied and saving life’s working so hard long hours on his feet I am sure he is very tired when he is in the office seeing patients also thanks that is all I wanted to say for you guys to thank about that he told me what was wrong with me when I couldn’t walk and he was right on that also he is a very good doctor and knows what he is talking about I had surgery and got my hip fixed and I am doing great today thanks to dr Ken smith he was honest with me when he told me he was just to busy at the time to do the surgery to help me but told me to go to duke and the Xray I needed so they could find the break and I did and they found it and scheduled me for surgery so I have a lot of faith in him for me and my neice both today we both are doing great

It’s extremely unprofessional to have a German Shepard running around the exam/waiting rooms in any office and especially in a doctors office. I love dogs just as much as the next person, but this was unacceptable for a random dog I didn’t know come running up unexpectedly to my 2 yo daughter and get in her face scaring the crap out of her. Dr. Smith seems nice enough but the experience with the dog every visit has left a bad taste in my mouth.

HE , IS: A VERY RESPECTFUL DR.....AN WITH HIS PATIENTS!, WITH HIS 38 YRS.EXPERIENCE, HE IS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, IN HIS FIELD......YES, IF, I NEEDED BACK SURGERY HE, WOULD BE FIRST ONE I WOULD GO TO......AN YES, I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS DR. TO ANYONE......VIVIAN GENTRY.......

He knew exactly what was wrong with my husband on first visit!!! We have wasted a lot of money and 6.5 years of life due to a tumor no one else cared to look for! And he did!! Hands down to this man!!

Doesn't shake hands when entering the exam room. Condescending, patronizing. Would not recommend.

this is the worst place I've been too. can't talk to anyone , no one call you back , if they do they just say I will call you back. but never do. in 1 month I called 7 times trying to get an appt. for an epidural. just gave up no one would call me. still don't know what's wrong had a mri, they just rushed me out . I did get to see the doctor one time. he could even set down and explain it to me. I stood at a machine and was told a few things. he didn't even has time to answer my questions. don't recommend this dr. at all

Dr Smith did a wonderful job on my back surgery, but I have suffered with something wrong that has put my life at a standstill, he was gonna inject my back in surgery and the hospital told me 7am, well I had been gone that day doing pre-op the OR called and said I had to be there at 5;30am, well I didn't hear this until 4;30am that morning it takes 2 hrs to get to the hospital, I had no choice but to cancel, I have been almost 2 eeeks trying to get someone to call me back to reschedule, the assistant in his office told me he would be ticked because I had to cancel, I don't understand why they just can't call me back

i have been going to dr smith for 8 years due to a pituitary tumor. dr smith performed the surgery for removal of the tumor and it went wonderfully. the staff at blueridge neuroscience center have all been very kind to me thoughout the years. i would reccomend him
