Dr. Ken Yanagisawa, MD

This practice seems to be surviving off of the reputation of their retired founders. The waiting rooms look like they are from the 70s, and some of the staff look like they are just going through the motions. This doctor was lazy and did not take the time to find the root cause of my problems. Stay away from this practice as you can do a lot better elsewhere, as I did.

Waited 90 min to be seen and then received a 5 min exam. Seemed to rush through things and give very basic advice on my sinus issues. I'm sure he is a more than qualified MD, but I left feeling like it was a waste of time

Dr. Yanagisawa failed to diagnose my nasal polyp, which had he used a scope during one of my many visits, would have been found. Thankfully, I am now being treated by a more thorough ENT who found my polyp.

Dr Ken and his staff are the best. I highly recommend dr. Ken going to his office is always a pleasure even if he can't fix your problem he certainly tries his best. always always has a smile.

he is a great dr

I recently had sinus surgery with Dr. Y to correct a deviated septum and to remove all kinds of cysts and polyps that were causing sinus infections for the past several years. After surgery, Dr. Y makes sure to follow up with you several times. He has many years of experience and his dad was also an ENT. So far, I am breathing easier and can administer medication into both of my nostrils successfully for the first time in my life. Dr. Y is professional who encourages open communication and explains your conditions/options in ordinary terms. He encourages questions and even though I tend to be a bit overanxious about my health, he has always treated my concerns with respect. Dr. Y has a sense of humor so you can always expect to be laughing at some point during your visit! I would definitely recommend Dr. Yanigisawa to friends and family. :)

I met with Dr. Y after a few MONTHS of being treated for laryngitis by various physicians and nurse practitioners in my PCP's practice . They prescribed antibiotics, steroids, inhalers, gargles,... and kept telling me to try not to talk. Not sure about you, but being told not to talk after 3-4 months does not seem like an appropriate solution, not to mention all the side effects of continually prescribed medications that were not even treating the underlying problem. I think they would have continued to throw medication after medication at the problem if I hadn't decided I'd given them enough chances to "fix" me. After an in-office procedure and during my first office visit, Dr. Y diagnosed vocal cord polyps - a diagnosis not even entertained by my PCP's office. I needed surgery, end of story. All of the medication in the world was not going to shrink the polyps on my vocal cords. It was still another 6 -8 weeks post surgery before I got my voice back fully but I cannot tell you how… relieved I was. You know what they say - you don't realize what you have until you lose it........... Great doctor! Very personable! Good sense of humor! He actually even allows for/seeks input from his patients. If you want to be part of a team see Dr. Y. If you just want someone to keep telling you what to do, go to a walk-in until you can't take the discomfort any longer and then go see Dr. Y!
