Meet Dr. Remington
Hello, I’m Dr. Remington. I’d like to introduce myself to you. I love what I do. Each patient walks in the door as a stranger with a unique set of concerns about their smile, but when they leave after treatment is complete, they have become a member of our extended family with a smile they can be proud of and share with others for a lifetime. The challenge I face is in putting together the individual pieces of the puzzle that will take that patient from start to finish with a beautiful smile as the result. The best part of what I do is the big smile I get the moment after the braces are removed. We record that smile in a photograph. One copy goes up in our smile center in the office and a second copy goes home with the patient.
I grew up in Lewisboro, New York, and attended Kenyon College, where I met my husband, John. We spent four years in Washington, D.C. while I attended Georgetown University School of Dentistry and two more in Chicago while I completed my …orthodontic residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I have been lucky enough to have lived, raised a family, and practiced in Guilford since 1990. John and I have three children, Alyssa, Ian, and Connor, and we are pleased to welcome two new family members, Alyssa’s husband, Matt, and their daughter, Riley.
Our office is designed to offer excellence in a comfortable setting. My office is located in a beautiful building in Guilford’s Historic District that was built in 1836. When you enter our reception area, you will be greeted by name with a smile by Patty, my office manager. We offer a selection of muffins, scones, and juices in the mornings to make coming to those early appointments a little more palatable. This is also where we show off our smile center and our door of fame where articles, photos, and awards received by our patients are posted. When you enter our treatment area, my orthodontic assistant, Judy, will make sure that each patient’s concerns are addressed at every appointment. We stay current with the latest updates in techniques, equipment, and technology by attending local, regional, and national meetings together as a team. We are a very tight-knit group.
When I am not at the office, my number one priority is my family. I love visiting Alyssa and her family and watching Riley grow up, as well as keeping up with Ian’s activities at Washington College which includes a significant amount of studying and even more baseball, and getting to as many of Connor’s cross country meets and tennis matches as humanly possible. When I have a little time to myself, I play tennis, tennis, and more tennis. I also love making jewelry for friends and family, reading and being active in a book club that I started with a friend, hiking, and all kinds of chocolate. I look forward to meeting you.
