Dr. Kenneth Ray Bunning, DO

I was referred to Dr Bunning by a family friend. Bedside manner not excellent but I have learned thats not always the most important thing. I have seen him a few times, and he is sometimes short and to the point but I think thats ok because he is great at what he does. He is a wealth of knowledge and explains things in a way that is easy for me to understand. Not terribly impressed by office/staff, but not sure how much control Dr Bunning has over that.

Don't understand the negative reviews. Both my mom and husband go to Dr Bunning and we've never had a bad experience with the staff, office conditions or Dr. Highly recommend Dr Bunning.

The front desk staff is terrible. I made this appointment over a month ago. My GP called to see if the appoint could be moved up, due to his concern for my medical problem. I also called three weeks ago regarding the appointment, which I was told to keep the appointment I had originally scheduled. I was told to arrive at the office a half hour early to fill out paper work. When I arrived the door to the office was locked. Ten minutes later the staff turned from lunch. I waited another 20 minutes before I was told I did not have an appointment. This is a very unprofessional office. The front desk done not have a clue what is happening.

After reading other comments I decided to post mine. Don't expect grandfatherly coddling from Dr. Bunning but do expect good care. His manner is dry which can be mistaken for being cold, but he is still caring and efficient. He treated my fiance with respect and is providing him excellent care. I have never seen trash in the rooms or waiting room. As far as the waiting time, his is no different from any other doctor I have seen. You are going to wait for some period of time; some waits are shorter, some are longer. All in all, I trust Dr. Bunning to give my fiance the good care he needs.

Husband was in for cystocopy. Admitted to room and left for 45 minutes or more. Unable to call for help. Dr. rude when questioned about the reason for this. Not prepared for our visit, no idea why we were there, started out telling us how he would do "surgery"...not there for surgery consult.

Dr did surgery on my father the other night. My dad has kidney stones that moved down from kidney into ureter. He was in fierce pain. We went to the ER and Dr Bunning was in surgery. The resident in the ER said there was no way Dr Bunning could do surgery tonight or soon. But, when the resident let Dr Bunning know my dad was there, he came down and talked to us. He did surgery that night and my father went home without pain. Thank you Dr Bunning.

We had an appointment for 2:30 and were told to come 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork, which we did. The waiting room is small, nice chairs, but no air circulation nor air conditioning - though the inside offices seem to be air conditioned. (We finally ended up propping a chair in the door to get some circulation.) At 3:30 I again checked in with the receptionist to see if they had forgotten my Mom. The answer was "The doctor's just running behind." Soon after that we were taken into an examining room (I think because I had questioned the receptionist). After waiting another half hour in the examination room (4:00 by this time and our appointment was for 2:30) . . . we got up and left!! The doctor did come into view as I was talking with the receptionist as we left. He looked very unhealthy. I do not trust unhealthy looking people with my health or my mother's health. In addition, other than my mother all of the other patients who were waiting were men. I am not sure… how many female patients this doctor sees. Lastly, per the previous respondent, we also found the trash cans to be open and full, though not overflowing. They seem to not be able to spring for metal waste baskets with the domed lid; instead they are using regular business office ones. So, all in all, not a good experience or impression.

Dr. Bunning is part of a large group practice that shares, appointment making, support staff, etc. My experience with this practice and Dr. was negative...Curt telephone staff, unresponsive, nearly rude medical follow up support staff...LONG delays between appointments clearly aimed at the convenience of the Dr. rather than patient. The final straw was when I found the medical examining room where proceedures take place to be littered with used paper towels and overflowing medical hazmat bins at 10AM! Reminded me of a big city ER... Avoid this one.
