At first meeting with Dr. Chang, he can sometimes talk talk over you with his wealth of medical knowledge but...he WILL take the time and effort to explain again thoroughly to ensure you make the best decision in correcting your eye ailments. For me, he recommended two options to correct my Cataract in my Left Eye: (1) Refractive Laser-Assisted Cataract Surgery (RehLACS) and (2) Traditional Cataract Fragmentation Correction. He also mentioned that the Laser Correction may be more beneficial for me since I have a astigmatism in my left eye with the Laser option will better correct both my vision and my astigmatism. He also reassured me that the Traditional Cataract Refragmentation Surgery with the insert of a new corrective Intraocular Lens can also do the job but may not be as beneficial to correct my slight astigmatism. Because of my insurance coverage, I have opted for the Traditional Cataract Surgery and he respected my decision and reassured me of the high success of the… Traditional surgery route. The Surgery was VERY COMFORTABLE and Painless, with Dr. Chang being very reassuring as well as the Queen's West Hospital Surgical Staff going the extra mile to insure your care and your brief stay at the hospital is as Comfortable and Stress-Free as possible. Dr Chang Going the Extra Mile: To my surprise, the surgery went soo well that I am near 20-20 in my surgery eye and was not expecting such great results. During my Post Op meeting with Dr Chang he made known to me that because of my astigmatism he purposely made my incision in the upper portion of my eye (rather that coming in from the sides as with most Traditional Correction) so as to correct my astigmatism. It was a Success!! Now I See Much Clearer and BETTER than ever. Thanks Dr. Chang!!
