Dr. Kenneth Bradley Chapman, MD

Dr. Ken Chapman is truly one of a kind. I was injured and the pain was unbearable. He was able to calm me down, get an MRI authorization, follow up and get the results and put me at ease explaining the problem and his suggested course of treatment. He truly cares about his patients and really makes you feel comfortable.

Dr. Chapman is extremely attentive, caring and will go completely out of his way to help you with any problem one might have????

Kenneth Chapman is the worst doctor I've ever dealt with. The epidural injections he gives to his patients affect them to varying degrees. Some patients benefit, some do not, some benefit only slightly. And yet Chapman insists that his patients claim the injections relieve at least 90% of their spinal pain when that this far from the truth. Chapman's routine is to try to rubber-stamp most, if not all of his patient's responses to his injections as helping to relieve 90% of the pain they feel in their back. But the truth is this: every patient is different and every patient does not have the same response to Chapman's injections. In fact, I have heard that patients have increased spinal cord pain and increased tissue pain in their backs because of Chapman's epidural injections, which in many instances, are administered without benefit of any anesthesia. I know this to be the truth because I was one of those patients. When I had a face to face meeting with Chapman one day in his Victory… Blvd. office, I told him his injections weren't even relievinf me of 50% of the back pain I had. I told him his injections might have relieve 25% of my back pain and he said, no, that's not what you can tell the insurance company if they ask you. You have to tell them 90% of your spine pain is being relieved by my injections or else the insurance will not cover the expense of the injections. I told Chapman this was medical fraud but he became insulted and insisted this was his normal way of doing business. I told Chapman I would not lie for him and that I would be honest with the insurance company that pays my medical bills. Chapman only became further agitated and threatened to refuse me medical treatment in the future if I didn't play ball with him. It is obvious the man is the medical profession to make himself wealthy, even if it means pressuring his patients with the threat they will have to pay for the injections themselves if the insurance companies refuse to. What Chapman does not warn his patients about is this: his very invasive style of administering the pain meds via injection is a highly risky procedure because the needles are so long that they reach the facet joints where spinal nerves are at the base of the spine. One mistake by Chapman & a patient could be left paralyzed! I wonder how many malpractice suits have been filed against this doctor.

Full of himself

I like his approach and the way he relates to his patients. He seems honest and straight forward.Things didn't work as he planned,but he took plenty of time going over everything. I have faith in him.

This is an update on an older review. Everyone who works at the spine and pain institute under dr Chapman’s practice seems to have one thing in common.....making the patient comfortable by being compassionate and kind during their appointment. You are greeted by the helpful front desk run by Calvin and Jeanette. They try very hard to accomdate any needs that you have. The wait time is not very long and you are interviewed by a physician aide who takes your vitals and builds a profile of your case. After doing that you then meet one of the specialists including dr Chapman. Often you meet Stacy as well. She is so competent, and concerned that you immediately relax knowing that you are in good hands. I suffer from a multitude of diseases and conditions and arrive in pain. I go for monthly visits to follow up on my r.a. Sometimes it just includes updating my condition and getting pain medication. It also includes epidural procedures and other procedures when needed. I always walk out… feeling better knowing that I was treated well by well informed and dedicated professionals. I gladly keep all my appointments even though I travel from another borough. I am always assured that I am getting the best treatment for what ails me. I don’t believe you can ask for more than that! Good luck Reyna from Riverdale.

I've been a patient of Dr. Chapman for several years - from neck issues to back issues. Everytime I see him I get relief. Notonly is he a compassionate doctor who takes the time to listen the whole staff is also smaxt and kind. There is no other doctor I eoyever trust for my pain management.
