Dr. Coignet is very rude. I brought my mom to West Jefferson Medical center. She was in hospice and had a sore on her foot. He was rude. He picked up her foot and did not look on the back of the heal and where the sore was. He dropped her heal on the bed and made her scream. We had hospice at home. He told me in front of my mom do you understand that Hospice is when you going to die. Why did you bring her here. Do you realize what hospice means. We had talked to my mom about assisted living. Now she is upset because of what he said she thinks we are putting her there to die. I asked that an infectious disease Dr. be brought in. He said that was a waste of time. The sitter was there and he told her that. I told him that my mom was alergic to a medication that she had trouble swollowing when she took it. He said oh well I am giving it to her. I work for doctors and they would never even think of treating patients like he does.

No patience with his patients. Does not wait on answers to his questions. Treated my grandmother while in the hospital with severe pneumonia like she was a geriatric with no reason to expect to be well and or comfortable. Definitely needs a little sensitivity training and to relook at his reasons for joining the medical profession.
