Dr. Kenneth Duane Dernovsek, MD

I've been seeing Dr. Dernovsek for 27 years now and can say absolutely nothing negative about what he has done for me medicinally!!!! He is the best I've seen yet!!!! I've seen several endocrinologists throughout my life. He has been the best yet!!!!

Dr. Dernovsek has been my dr for many years. I feel he is very competent and kind. His office staff and nurse are the complete opposite of his friendly manner. They are both unfriendly and can be downright rude and hard to deal with. I dread each appointment because of his staff.

I all to well about the Rude Nurse she is such a Witch ?? She hung up on me I wont put up with that The Doctor Ken was ok but Very admit about his Decision s

I have to agree with so many others here...love Dr. Dernovsek. He is caring, kind and extremely competent, however, his office staff is terrible. The receptionist is just ok, not friendly or helpful, but his nurse is beyond rude and condescending. I like everyone, but my blonde d pressure spikes every time I have to "talk" to her. I am always very polite, but inside I'm seething! If you've experienced her, please write a review on the chance that it will be see by her or the dr.

Aweful office staff and Dr. has horrible bedside manner.

I have been a patient of Dr. Dernovsek for the past six months. Thus far I have had to follow up again and again on my medical needs. I believe this is due to his staff, and not necessarily him. Although he is very condescending in his bedside manner, he was accurate and provided the appropriate treatment. My issue is his staff, they are the most unhelpful, rude, and inefficient I have ever come across in the medical field. I am not ordering a hamburger here, I am a vested stakeholder in my health and I expect his medical staff to follow up on what is needed for my care. I should not have to place multiple telephone calls, many of which require leaving a message that is never returned, to get prescriptions filled or procedures scheduled. Although he is likely a very good doctor, pursue other options strictly because of his staff.

Front office staff is lacking as others have noted. The ability to make an appointment was impossible. As they are the only show in town it is baffling to me the extent of which they take advantage of this fact. As far as scheduling an appointment, was told that I need to take diabetes training (which I have several times) be referred by a primary as well as other extensive application information which the doctor will review your "application" and determine whether you are worthy enough to see him and he will also determine when he will see you (could easily be several months away) even though medications are due for renewal and can only be issued by my endo in every other state I have been to over the past 30yrs. His nurse is extremely rude and inconsiderate. If you pass the test and follow his odd protocols you may be given the privilege of being seen by him. It is easier to get into a top tier PhD program with a 2.0 than it is to see him(and less abusive). I have… literally have had better care and treatment in rural third world countries. Consider yourself warned. Do yourself and your health a favor and seek options elsewhere.

W called to get an appointment for my thyroid cancer and after telling the receptionist that we couldn't make the appointment that she had available for us, she scheduled it anyway. After getting a reminder of our appointment that we didn't schedule, we had to cancel. Now the doctor calls our Primary Care and tells us that he will not see us because we cancelled our initial appointment.The sense of rudeness and entitlement that we got from the receptionist was overwhelming.1/10 Would not even try again with this doctor.

Dr. Dernovsek has been my doctor since 1984. I first saw him in the hospital following removal of my thyroid due to cancer and continue to see him on a regular basis. In the last 27 years, I have never had so much as one complaint about him. He is kind and caring, he fully explains everything and I have never felt that he was too busy to spend the time needed with me. I would not hesitate at all to refer anyone to him.

Refered by my surgeon after thyroid removal. Found office staff to be very lacking. Are LAZY! Case in point, would not FAX a prescription to my mail order pharmacy. Said it was "illegal" even though every other doctor I have been to has done it. Gave me the prescription and told ME to mail it myself (and I am paying them for this?). And as a specialist, he is not cheap!Follow up after surgery is poor. Did not even know I had started the low iodine diet from the hospital. Never had a visit while in the hospital. No communication with any other doctors or hospital. I had to call his office after a week to see what was going on.Said they did not have any lab reports back after 10 days (surgeon and primary care doctor had them back in 3 days).It is excuse after excuse. And they DO NOT accept Visa, Master Card. CASH or CHECK ONLY. Too cheap to pay the fees I guess?If anyone got the kind of service they provide from their nursing and office staff at a Wal-Mart or Target, they would never… shop there again.Sorry to make this so long, but they really fired my rockets with telling me to send in my own prescription as it is "illegal". I took it to my primary care doctor and asked their office to FAX it for me and they had no problem in doing so.In the future, I will drive 50 miles to the next town and doctor before going back.
