Dr Easton and his staff were all very friendly. Dr Easton explained to me what is wrong with my back and listened to all of my questions and answered them all. He explained the surgical options that I have and made his recommendation. The office team went to work right away on scheduling everything and kept me updated. They were all very professional and courteous.

I have had the PRIVILEGE of being Dr. Kenneth Easton's patient SEVERAL TIMES beginning in 2005 to 2019 (Cervical and Lumbar fusions). He is KIND. He LISTENS to what you have to say. He looks over ALL the pertinent information I could give him (all CDs of MRIs, CT Scans, XRays, Bone Density Scans you name it, I have it!) The most IMPORTANT thing about DR. EASTON is this above ALL other considerations... HE IS TALENTED AND HE IS CAREFUL!!!! He ALWAYS brought a Neurosurgeon into my Operations just to take extra care that no nerves were cut and had an extra set of talented hands!! If that isn't enough convincing - read on.... He has had the SAME PA and Head Nurse all of these years as well! If that isn't a strong team, I don't know what is!! I have had many cervical fusions (all of my cervical is fused now) as well as back fusions (I'm fused from L2 to S1) over the years (BAD GENES - not bad Spine Surgeons)!!!! It was a difficult and hard pill to swallow when you are cut into time and… time again, in back braces, neck braces, months of recovery. Not ONCE have I had a nerve cut, or a lasting improperly done solid procedure with Dr. Easton!!! There are MANY things that can go wrong with these types of surgeries. That is just the HONEST truth! The ONE time I strayed from Dr. Easton and went to another Spine Surgeon (again frustrated with my situation- not the Surgeon!) I stupidly thought maybe this Surgeon will be the final answer to all my problems! (It's easy to get those things confused and put together when emotions are involved!) This new Spine Surgeon did one Spinal Fusion for me and I had to have it RE-DONE in less than 2 years!!! On top of that, he cut nerves in my back trying to make my scar look prettier! A scar is a scar. Thanks???? I would rather feel parts of my behind and had my nerves intact! A piece of advice... DO NOT have a Cervical or Spine Surgery without a Neurosurgeon! This Spine Surgeon did it on his own, claiming Neurosurgeons are a pain to work with! Yes, they have "God complexes!" At least the good Neurosurgeons do! Leave the kindness and "heart warmth" to the Spine Surgeons. Why did I stray from the successful Surgeons? Good question! I wanted to blame everyone and everything on the crappy body I have been dealing with! Simply put by one of my doctors - I HAVE BEEN DEALT A BAD HAND IN THE GENE POOL! I have a classic Degenerative Disc Disease as well as any other parts of my body where "cushions" are. Bone-on-Bone in my knees. Both knees fully replaced at the tender age of 36! I have been through 29 SURGERIES to be exact since 2005! Not kidding!!! Another Note- CHRONIC PAIN can OVER-RIDE good decisions! Instead of what the real truth was... I have been dealt a BAD bunch of genes! It is what it is!!! Anywhere there is a "cushioning" area it falls apart and I am "bone-on-bone" before I know it! I had BOTH knees fully replaced at the tender age of 36! That's how much I have been dealt a crappy body. So... I have now returned to the beginning. I'm back with Dr. Easton (Othopedic Associates in Grand Rapids, MI) and I have put my whole trust (and life as I know it) in his hands. My whole Lumbar has to be torn apart and fused into the Thorasic area!!! This is NOT due to improperly done Surgeries or bad Surgeons! Before they understood the true long-lasting effects of fusions in the Lumbar area, they now know if you take the natural curve out of your spine, you end up with "Flat Back Syndrome". But... It should be my last back Surgery!! God Willing and Talented Surgeons! What I like about Dr. Easton is yet again, he WORKING with another SPECIALIST to get the JOB DONE RIGHT!!!! If that isn't enough to impress you, I do not know what will! Thanks for reading!
