Dr. Farha graduated from the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Dentistry in 1963, served 2 years in the Army Dental Corp and then practiced General Dentistry for the next 18 years in Wichita Kansas. During that time he found the problems of TMJ patients more and more compelling so in 1982 he decided to limit his practice to Head and Neck pain and came to Montgomery Alabama to join Dr. William Farrar and the Normandie Study Group. Since, he has lectured extensively and rendered patient care for these problems.
Dr. Farha is a recognized specialist in the treatment of TMJ, Snoring and Sleep Apnea.
About TMJ
Pain is your body's signal that something is wrong. For example, your muscles, teeth, Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ), and spinal joints all work as a team to hold your head up, chew, talk, swallow, control your airway, etc. If any of them become uncoordinated, any or all of them are affected and send a pain signal.
…When a patient experiences pain over the joint in front of the ear, possibly radiating elsewhere, it is often caused by TMJ Syndrome (or TMJ Disorder). When referring to such ailments, the term TMJ covers a complex set of conditions that is manifested in several ways. TMJ Syndrome may cause sharp and searing pain triggered by yawning, talking, swallowing, or chewing, or it may cause a dull and constant ache.
It is estimated by the National Institutes of Health that at any given time there are almost 11 million people in the United States suffering from TMJ problems.

What to Expect: During your first visit, we will perform a thorough evaluation to determine if you may benefit from our treatment. Dr. Farha will discuss your treatment options and answer any of your questions. If your schedule allows, treatment will begin the same day.
Insurance Coverage: TMJ and Sleep Apnea Treatment is usually covered under the major medical portion of your Medical Insurance. Since all insurance companies are different, we recommend that you contact your insurance carrier to obtain benefit information for the treatment of TMJ. If you need assistance we would be happy to have a trained insurance specialist guide you through the process of determining your coverage.
