Dr. Kenneth Stuart Kammer, MD

This doctor should not be taking new patients. I went 3/26/14 the first thing he wanted to know was, why I was sent to him. He was retiring in April. During the whole check up he would ask why I was recommended to him. I have medicine allergies, he told me he was going to recommend 2 drugs for my family doctor to put me on and one was an anti depressant. I told him I was not a depressed person, he informed me - you are in chronic pain and you are not a depressed person. What do you want, to be cut open. I said no, but I wanted a more natural way they being put on more pills. He asked me if I thought I was going to be 20 again, well that wasn't going to happen. I have annular bulging disc from L2 to S1 all with pressure on the nerve root with arthritis and now neuropathy. I have had back problems since I was 15, I am now 53, I worked for over 30 years. Ihave the MRI's to prove that I have disc and nerve root problems. When I told him I didn't want to put on an… antidepressant and Lyrica, I was informed that he was the doctor and if I didn't want to take his recommendations, to get my socks and shoes on and leave. I heard he had a bad bed side manner, but was a good doctor. So I was in high hopes before going of at least being told there were ways to prevent the disc from pressing on the nerve roots, causing numbness and pain down my legs. I was made to feel like I was a crazy person and was asked why I wasn't taking some of my medicines everyday. I told him I took as needed. If you take a medicine to long your body gets immune to it and with medicine allergies I didn't want to have to go to something stronger. In the past doctors fussed at patients for taking to much medicine. First time I have been chastised for not taking enough and not wanting to be put on medicines that have severe side effects.

I've never had a doctor spend 2 1/2 hours with me until I met Dr. Kammer! He makes extra sure of his diagnosis, EXTRA time and effort in answering questions, extra time and effort in explaining/discussing what your options are. He goes out of his way to make sure you are comfortable after surgery. I don't want any other surgeon touching me.

A little over six years ago, my mother-in-law and 74 year old father-in-law were in a car accident...hit by an 18 Wheeler. We were told by Dr. Krammer that he had a less than 1% chance of survival and that if he did survive he would be in long term care and never be able to feed himself, walk, etc. We were given the option to pull him off of life support. We decided not to. He was in a Coma for 5 weeks and then in a nursing home for 4 months, where he made incredible progress...fed himself, dressed himself, walks without a cane or walker. Faith is a big part of recovery...not just medicine. If you have faith and patience, amazing things can happen. While Dr. Krammer may be an excellent physician, he lacks the faith that most families need during times of crisis. Dad is functioning well, still has some memory loss and personality changes, but he is still here and living on his own with Mom.

Dr Kammer is a professional who cares for his patients. It becomes evident early on that correcting a health problem is his first priority. Much appreciated, tough but fun, and truly one of a kind. Bedside manner goes both ways; A good attitude goes a long way toward recovery as well as the possibility of any recurrence.

Dr Kenneth S. Kammer is Very Arrogant,Very Poor Bedside Manner, Thinks He's God,He kept saying I'm a "Neurosurgeon" while he was examining me this is not my job to Examine you, well beside's Dr Kammer being rude Cocky and Egotistical he completely got my diagnosis WRONG he told me i was just depressed..Well Depression will not cause you to lack a Gag reflex, or Cause Hyperreflexia,or Ataxia.Come to find out after seing a real caring Neurosurgeon in North Carolina he discovered my Brainsteam was damaged and there was some Major Motor Nerve Damage. Beware of this Cocky,Arrgant Neurosurgeon Dr Kenneth S. Kammer He's a Jerk!!
