Dr. Kenneth A Litwin, MD

Dr. Litwin is truly a genius. Internal medicine can be a daunting field when you have patients presenting with very odd symptoms. Dr. Litwin was extremely patient and carefully ordered the right testing, which is hard to come by with most doctors, and put everything together in my situation. I am doing so much better just several months into treatment and am optimistic for the first time in a long time. He happily works with other doctors in a wider medical team.

After my old internist retired I had a hard time finding a replacement. it took a few years before I found Dr. LItwin, highly recommended by a friend of mine. In the first year or so, upon an irregular EKG, he saved my life by sending me for further cardiological tests that concluded in a quadruple bypass. He listens actively and truly cares about his patients. On several occasions he called me long after office hours to ascertain I was well after procedure, or returned my call for a thorough and sometimes lengthy phone consultation for which he received no compensation. For nearly 15 years I have been enjoying his dedicated service.

Dr Litwin is the most amazing & caring doctor. He spends time and finds out everything that he needs to diagnose. He has taken care of me for seven years and I trust him more than anyone.

Wait time was long both in the waiting room AND in the examination room. Ken looks at his patients as a nuisance and treats them with disrespect, lack of compassion, and is condescending while he does it. He also misdiagnosed me for having leukemia when I really had Lyme Disease. Extremely unprofessional and rude.

This Dr takes the extra time with you to make a proper diagnosis. He follows up with phone calls when needed. I would recommend him highly.

Regular checkups notwithstanding, I have had to see Dr. Litwin twice for "emergency" care. Both times I was treated extermely well by him and his staff. I was diagnosed correctly and he even called me days afterwards to see how I was!

Dr. Litwin is one of the kindest MDs I've ever met. He respects my intelligence and doesn't talk down to me, yet finds a way to succinctly explain complex issues. I also think he is a brilliant diagnostician. He is so thorough and thinks out of the box, considering things others might miss. While I have had to wait for appointments (c'mon, who hasn't - and I'm not going to blame the DR- I blame the first patient of the day who was late and screwed it up for the rest of us - - and also front desk personnel who don't always allow enough time for certain things when they make the appts on behalf of the doc. i.e., Physicals. They take a long time, people! Plan accordingly!) But once in the exam room I never feel rushed. Dr. Litwin also makes me feel comfortable talking about things that are personal - - and he has been dedicated to getting me to improve my health habits. I have had trouble quitting smoking and losing weight in the past but he finally got me to do it. He didn't make me feel… like an evil bad person for being a smoker, or overweight, either. He just told me the facts - no judgment - and said he knew it was hard and he would do everything he could to help me. I know for a fact his dedication extends to other folks because my father is also one of his patients. Dr. Litwin went out of his way to visit him in the hospital 3 days in a row - when there was already a team of DRs there looking after him - but that made such an impression. He did that on his own time. I bet he doesn't have much free time. He also has called me about test results himself instead of having some underling do it. I should also say, he is funny - not silly funny, but he helps diffuse situations that may otherwise be tense with a kind or funny word to distract me and get me talking about what I might not want to talk about. It's a gift. So as you can see, I'm a Dr. Litwin fan. Anyone who isn't is either a) really confused and messed-up in the head or b) just likes to get attention writing negative things. You read a lot these days about how hard it is for the Primary Care Physician - - they are overworked, innundated with crap from the insurance companies, and they don't get compensated like those fancy guys who do procedures. That's not why they're in this game. They want to help people, on the front lines, the everyday folks. Dr. Litwin gives of himself to do this and is probably overwhelmed with stupid paperwork from stupid insurance companies - - and I want him to keep doing it because he has been such a help to me and my family. Danbury is lucky to have such a talent in their midst.

There are times i've had to wait a bit to see Dr. Litwin but in return he has NEVER rushed me out of an appointment. Always takes his time and is concerned with getting to the root cause of the problem and not just a quick fix prescription.
