Would not allow me to speak or explain anything, did not test my near vision, put me on six different eye drops at once, didn’t want to deal with reading my medical history, was rude to my doctor, and lied to me about what my doctor told him. He gave me a completely wrong prescription. My current prescription is -11.50 and -9.50 with +2.50 for both eyes. He tried prescribing me -1.00 and -3.00 so I can walk around blind. He didn’t care to listen to me or about my health. He spoke over me and just went ahead without me being able to get a word in.

Dr. Melchionna is a thorough, competent doctor who works hard to get the best results for his patients. However, he gets impatient when asked to explain and has no time for questions.

Dr. Melchionna is competent and thorough. He is intensely concerned with his patient's eyes. However, he is not good at explaining nor is he patient with questions.

Dr Melchionna is a compassionate professional who gives his patience the kind of care he would give his own family. He is thorough and waste no time but will listen to what ever you have to say. I look forward to my check ups with him.

My father, step-mother and Uncle have all seen Dr. Melchionna and been very pleased. He seems to stay on time and we were out pretty fast. Great doctor, great staff, great office!

I was referred to Dr. Melchionna by my neighbor who has been going to Simpson Eye forever. Dr. Melchionna was very professional and did a great eye exam. The office staff was nice and treated me well. I would definitely go back!

My first visit I received a flower from him. I then needed a laser procedure at which he made me feel very comfortable and unafraid. Had me laughing. He is very professional and concentrates on his work so therefore there's not a lot of time to chat. I have highly recommended him to several people. I cannot understand all the negative comments about this Dr. My visits with him are either in Crystal Lake or Huntley. There had been no need to follow up. I do not like the lady that fits me for new frames.
