Dr. Kenneth Robert Mirkin, MD

Scheduled video visit weeks in advance. On the day of my appointment they failed to email me the link (said it would be sent 30 minutes prior to appointment). When I called to get the link, I had to wait on hold for 30 minutes, at which point they said they would have to reschedule because I missed the appointment. Terrible service, find another doctor!

I have been a patient at GANV (Gastro Health) for three years with Dr. Kenneth Mirkin for my Crohns Disease. Up to this point, he has always been very curt at any check-in appointments, but I let it slide because I just needed someone to order routine blood work and prescribe my medication. Recently, I scheduled an appointment because I was having a lot of pain. He had me do a colonoscopy and ordered labs to check my Humira levels.  One week after the colonoscopy, I had a follow up to discuss the results of the scope and bloodwork. He got on the zoom call and said "It looks like you have Crohns Disease. I'm surprised you haven't had any symptoms."  He has seen me for the last 3 years because of my Crohns Disease and we JUST spoke a week ago, and he was shocked I even had the disease. He also asked me how I was treating it....answer: with the medication (Humira) he has been prescribing for me for 3 years.  He then proceeded to order lab work to check my Humira levels. When I told him… we already did that, he had no recollection of ordering those labs, nor had his office received the results (which was the whole reason we waited a week for the follow up). He said he'd get back to me and rushed me off the call. Shortly after, I received my clinical summary notes, which stated that the colonoscopy showed hemorrhaging and ulcers in the GI tract. He did not tell me ANY of this.  This is my body and my disease, I have a right to know what is happening in my body, and I have should be able to trust my doctor to 1) REMEMBER me and 2) take more than 3 minutes to analyze the problems, tell me what they are, and establish a care plan for me. I have tried to call and address my concerns with the Practice Manager, who will not call me back. When speaking with one receptionist to try and get through, he told me that Dr. Mirkin is over 70 and is going to retire soon, so he is probably not as focused. He continued to defend the poor practice of the doctor with no apology to me, the person in physical pain, at all. This is UNACCEPTABLE.  As a direct result of Dr. Mirkin and his patient neglect, I will be leaving this practice and informing everyone of my experience via Google Reviews, Yelp, etc. This doctor needs to be removed from this practice and replaced with someone who has the mental capacity to remember who their patients are and take the time to help them get better.

Amazing doctor! Been seeing Dr. Mirkin for over 20 years and would highly recommend him as he’s kind, caring, and helpful.

The most insensitive physician that I ever come across, I’m not even sure why he chose this profession with his lack of empathy and compassion!

Perhaps Dr Mirkin was a good doctor at some point in the past, who actually cared about his patients. I arrived early for my appointment, was admitted 30 minutes late, and sat in the room for another 20 minutes. The last 5 of those were spent listening to him chatting up a female assistant. When he came in the room and looked at me with those dead and uncaring eyes, I started to get a bad feeling about my visit. As I told him my symptoms, he several times tried to end the conversation and get up and walk out of the room as I was mid-sentence. I scheduled the procedure he recommended, but ended up canceling it because I couldn't bear the thought of such a person actually performing it on me.

I came in with a complaint about a growth in my esophagus/throat and was met with extreme disregard and dismissal by Dr. Mirkin. He wouldn't even preform a physical exam of simply LOOKING in my throat. I literally had to say to him "so you're not going to even look?" to which he finally suggested a follow up procedure...6 weeks away. Let's hope this growth is totally benign! but in the mean time I'm going to get a REAL examination by a doctor that doesn't patronize their patients for being concerned about their health. NEVER AGAIN!

Visited GANV and was very pleased with the staff and especially with Dr. Kenneth Mirkin. He took time with me and answered all of my questions and concerns. I was very confident when I left the office as we had a plan in place. I would highly recommend Dr. Mirkin.

I wish I read these reviews before deciding to see this incompetent doctor, Kenneth Mirkin. He is unbelievable person to be called a doctor. Had surgical procedure performed by him and now I regret that I chose him to do. During follow up, he showed that he never seen my lab and surgery results, and just spent 2-3 min and make me feel like just get out of here. What was annoying about him is he was flirting with young female nurses and staff effortlessly. Please don't waste your time and money this doctor. Disaster!

It took us over a month to get an appointment with this doctor. My son has had stomach issues for years and this doctor gave him all of 6 minutes of his time. It took us longer to fill out the paperwork. Issues not solved and have not heard anything back from him. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!

Extremely rude and disrespectful person. Did not listen to medical history and reasons, all the time felt disrespected and mistreated. Left the office crying. Will NEVER go back to that doctor and would not suggest to anyone - his bed side manners are not existing. Please read other reviews !!!
