Dr. Kenneth Mark Sakauye, MD

I had the unfortunate experience of knowing this man. He is the rudest and most arrogant person I have ever known. He has no people skills, and is only concerned about his status. I was raised in Memphis but moved to New Orleans. I was so sad to think that he was living in my home town. What a tragedy to the medical profession! He is also embarrassed by his Asian ethnicity, telling folks that he is NOT Japanese! Find another doctor!!

This man is rude, arrogant and unprofessional. He has absolutely no people skills. During his past career in New Orleans, no one liked him there either. I would never take my relative to a man who only cares about money. He's a disgrace to the profession of helping people!

I entrusted my husband to Dr Sakauye's care, and I deeply regret that. My husband has Alzheimer's and was exhibiting some agressive behavior. He admitted him into St. Frances Hospital's geri/psych unit where my husband's condition deteriorated rapidly. Four days into my husband's stay there, Dr Sakauye went on vacation and left his equally incompetent and uncaring associate in charge of my husband's care. My husband fell twice, quit eating and drinking, quit talking, walking and began wearing a diaper. Every time I would go to visit him, he was like a zombie. My husband became malnourished and dehydrated because of 5 days of extremely low food and liquid intake. At that point, they finally put an IV drip in him only after my insistence. After two weeks of this, I discharged him to Baptist hospital where he received excellent care. He is now in a nursing home. Hopefully, this will sound an alarm to others who are in similar circumstances. I have great respect for psychiatry,… but this doctor is a disgrace to his profession. Please do NOT make the same mistake I made. O

How in the world this person had any kind of positive review or rating completely baffles me. This is the most robotic, impersonal, heartless person I have ever met in the medical field. He has absolutely no bedside manner and no knowledge of how to talk to another human being, so he tries to make up for it with an annoying nervous laugh which is very inappropriate. He explains your condition to you as if you should know whats wrong and how could you be so stupid as to not know. Hes also all about the numbers, as if there is some magical equation that will treat your illness- so he goes on and on about past studies, graphs, and other useless information instead of listening to your unique situation. To him, you're just another statistic, and are treated as such. By all means, stay away!
