Dr. Kenneth Anthony Scioscia, MD

Hi. My impression WAS that Dr. KENNETH scioscia is a a caring doctor, nevertheless, he failed to careful read the MRI on my brain. When we talked about the result of the test, in June 2024 . He told me that my brain is "Very Old:" , not satisfied with his statement, I made an appointment with a neurology. I still did not get any diagnosis from the neurologist, I asked for a copy of the MRI REPORT. At home, I read the very small and faded print of the MRI report . There is not a Word of a "Very Old" brain. Instead, it says CHIARI 1 ABNORMALITY. THAT CONDITION OF MY BRAIN DOES NOT MEAN VERY OLD BRAIN. DR . SCIOCIA did not read my MRI report to relate the findings of the test. When we talked on the phone. I now think that he was un professional in giving me his opinión based on my age, instead of facts from the MRI.

It is very difficult to make an appt with this doctor. When you phone in rings and rings until someone answers and puts you on hold. I told the doctor about all of this and nothing was done. Then when you finally make an appt and arrive you will need to wait some time. When you see the doctor he is very quick and I think he barely pays attention. Once you are done, he disrespectfully dictates a letter into his recorder, while you re still sitting there.

Terrible experience. Spent 5 minutes with me and told me I needed antibiotics when I was already on antibiotics. I felt very rushed. Terrible experience. Saw another doctor and got steroids instead which made me feel so much better.

This week I went to see Dr Scioscia and I had a 11am appointment with him. I made sure he accepted my insurance and I double checked online. After I arrived at the office I was told that he didn't accept my insurance plan. That is absolutely wrong. I made the girl call the insurance and check that he accepts healthfirst. He is absolutely listed as a provider. He refused to see me and made me wait 2 hours. He tried to get someone else to see me and after I waited and complained he finally agreed to see me but then told me I should see a different doctor next time. He is terrible and unethical. I'm reporting him to the medical board and the insurance company.

I really like Dr Scioscia. He has operated on both of my boys. We have been very fortunate that all surgeries have gone well. I think he is very smart and knows what he is doing. I can see how that may come across as arogant at times. But overall I have had a very good experience with him.
