I was referred to DrSerra on a Tuesday by Dr Kumar for a spinal fracture of My T-12 vertebra ; for a possible kyphoplasty. .My first appointment was scheduled for the following Monday. Dr Serra met with my daughter and I. The appointment lasted at least an hour. During that time Dr Serra took an extensive history, gave us a complete description of the procedure that we could understand, explained the risks, the possible outcomes, both the good and bad. I had been in extremely bad pain over at least a period of 2months. I had trouble laying down flat, sitting and standing up from a chair. When I sat up after surgery in recovery room and then stood up and walked I had immediate relief. I went home and was able to sleep all night on my back. I also want to mention that I had a knee replacement 4 weeks prior to my back surgery. It has been 10 days since my back surgery and I am feeling stronger each day. I have no pain . I am continuing with my knee physical therapy and expect to… return to work 2 weeks from the date Dr Serra treated me for my back.
