Dr. Kenneth B. Svensson, MD

I've been seing dr Svensson for years and my last visit was shoking. He rushed my check up and the nurse treated me with a nasty attitude telling me how and what I should do with my life. She had no idea or barely any info about my life but the bottom line is that it was highly unprofessional of her to talk about what she does better with her life. Also, no one told me that I needed to wait about 4 days to be able to have a full physical covered by my health insurance and so instead of rescheduling me dr Svensson went ahead and just performed 2 tests and changed my appointment to an office visit which was explained over the phone that it was why he didn't spend the proper amount of time examining me. No one told me nor contacted me to let me know about the whole physical/check up/full blood work not being done and no one told me anything when I called about my blood work tests that I thought were missing! The office manager told me she'd send me a copy of my blood work which she NEVER… did. It's been a whole 3 months. The whole entire thing was really unprofessional and shockingly careless. I called again (3 months aftrr that visit) as my health insurance contacted me to remind me to have a full physical done. The nurse answered and AGAIN she gave me an attitude and it felt like she thought of me as some idiot. I'm usually laid back but I can't shake the fact that I had a terrible and extremely dissapointing experience and I felt disrespected/looked down. I don't know HOW that place got 4 stars because I have met several people who had complaints about that place. I've never believed it but now I do! I'll be going to a different doctor for now on. Farewell doctor Svensson.

Dr. Svensson has fantastic judgment and I highly respect him as a physician. I would give him a chance if you're looking to find a new PCP in the Nyack area

Really great MD. Been going to him for years and he treats many of my relatives. Very knowledgable and compassionate and takes time to explain everything to you. Office staff is excellent and friendly. I have no hessitation in recommending him as he gives excellent care to his patients.

Much like the previous reviewer, I find this doctor to be mainly a writer of referrals, rarely a giver of answers. Wait times are long and there is never any more than the most cursory follow up. Charges to my insurance company are astronomical ($1000 for a 15 minute conversation, basic vitals and a blood draw with 4 or 5 common lab tests? Really? Insurance paid out less than $175.) My experience with this Doc is that if i can diagnose my problem, so can he. If I have no idea, neither does he. But I did not go to medical school. Very frustrating.
