Dr Unruh was excellent. The visit went quickly and he explained everything very well. Very impressed with him overall!

He was very professional and determined quickly that I needed Dupuytren’s surgery on my right pinky finger. The surgery went well. My wait time for my initial appointment and surgery was minimal.

Dr. Unruh took care of my trigger finger and my numbness in my right hand. Soon he will be taking care of my left hand issues. He explains every thing that he anticipates he will have to do.

My appointment was exactly the time we scheduled. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Dr. Unruh explained everything- he literally drew me a picture!. One visit was all I needed for 100% relief.

Dr Unruh did carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand. He was very thorough explaining what to expect from surgery. I was very pleased. No issues at all. He is very knowledgeable and personable. The whole staff at office and surgery were great. Love you get in and out for your appointments, no long waits. I would highly recommend him.

Love Dr. Unruh and his thorough explanation of what is going on. I’ve had 3 different hand surgeries and was very pleased with the results.

Went to Dr. Unruh for a cat bite. He clearly had zero experience with cat bites. As an RVT I know cat bites are nothing to take lightly and should be treated aggressively. I was hospitalized on IV antibiotics for 2 days and was advised by the infectious disease doctor to get an MRI if there is things get worse after antibiotics. The pain came back after antibiotics and my general practitioner put me on a 10 day course of augmentin. Pain came back 7 days after this round as well. Unruh said the pain was from the trauma of the bite and when I asked him why its come back twice now 6 days after antibiotics and he had no answer but wasnt concerned. Per my general practioner and infectious disease doctor pain coming back after antibiotics is NOT a good sign. Unruh wanted to start with anti-inflammatories and watch and see. Well the pain got even worse. I went back he did nothing. Third visit he wanted to start with bloodwork and if there were abnormalities he wanted to do MRI. I got sick of… waiting so I went to see the infectious disease doctor I saw in the hospital and he immediately ordered MRI which was done last Friday. I was able to see blood culture results this morning thursday however due to uruhs incompetence he didnt request the lab hold the culture for 2 or more weeks in case haemobartonella showed up and the lab has tossed the sample. I didn't receive any actual call but emails from Unruhs assistant. I finally just decided to take the cat that bit me to the vet and spend $600 on bloodwork which included PCR, CBC, chemistry, felv/fiv tests. I shouldn't have to take my cat to the vet to find out what could be wrong with myself. There is so much more to this but just do not trust this doctor for cat bites. Veterinary medicine puts human medicine to shame. This has been a complete nightmare and I still don't know what's wrong.

Of all the Doctors I have seen in my 64 years of life, Dr Untuh has been the best. He explained in detail the fractures in my little finger. He drew pictures to help me visually see the injury. Then explained in great details what he needed to do to fix my finger. He wrote what the outcomes could be and the goals we were shooting for. He was so kind and compassionate. I went into surgery knowing I had the best Dr I could ever have for this surgery. I trust his judgement fully. He cares deeply for his patients. The surgery went great and the outcome was great. I have great mobility in that finger now. Which was the goal we were shooting for. I can’t say enough about how wonderful I was treated at KCOI. From urgent care, greeters at doors with Covid questions , to Nurses, Robin(his nurse) and everyone in the surgery Dept. and physical therapy. I would recommend Dr Unruh to anyone. He definitely is my favorite Dr of all times!

Dr. Unruh is the most arrogant Dr. I have ever encountered. He tried to tell me that 5 months prior I had an unnecessary surgery by another well respected Orthopedist. In fact i am surprised his head fits through the door when he enters a room! After seeing him, I made another appt with yet a 3rd Orthopedist, which confirmed at my previous surgery was not only necessary but that I also had the condition that Dr. Unruh said was my ONLY problem and wanted to cut my Ulna (arm) bone and reduce the size of it using plates and screws. The 3rd Dr I visited told me under no uncertain terms with my history of Osteoporosis that the cutting and removing of part of my bone would likely never heal correctly and would leave me with life long pain, when the condition isn't causing me any pain right now. Just because something shows up on an x-ray unless it is a cancerous tumor does not require surgery until it is causing pain. He may get high ratings from most, but not from this patient!
