Dr. Kenneth J Whittington, MD

Dr. Whittington has been my family doctor for years. I was diagnosed with a disorder that causes chronic body pain. Initially he seemed interested in helping me control my pain in hopes that I could get back to work. To make a long story short, after several visits because of my severe body pain and still not being able to work, and after he instructed me to increase my medications (which caused me to be dizzy and off balance, but helped my pain) he instructed me to return to work-light duty. My job is "light duty", and I've not been able to perform my job functions. When I went back to the doctor I was seen by someone different. However, his words to her were "I don't know what else I can do for her". What I don't understand is if he didn't know what else he could do for me, he could have consulted with my rheumatologist or someone else with extensive knowledge of this disorder for help. Why just throw me out there already knowing that I can't perform my job (that has always… been one of my major complaints) without instructions on backing out of the medication so that I could drive myself to work, or what I'm suppose to do when I decrease my meds and my pain returns. This is unacceptable of someone who is suppose to be your family physician and who vowed to make sure your health is priority no matter what it takes to help a patient, even if it means referring them to someone more experienced.
