He doesn't listen to the patient. Just wants to put you on more and more meds. Refuses to refer you to anyone else that might help, like a therapist or physical therapy. It's hard to imagine he spends more than 5 minutes thinking about how to help the patient. Avoid this guy at all costs. He's totally checked out.

Dr. Zemanek is professional, and I feel he has my best interests at heart.. Appointment Time with him is rather short, approx. 15 mins, but he has been very helpful to me and the reviews by people saying he's only interested in making money and handing out scripts, I feel are inaccurate and not true. I would recommend him to anyone with psychiatric issues, he's a good person and a fine doctor.....

Dr Zemanek is the best of the best! I have been suffering with depression since I was 13 I am now 37. I have been to psychiatrist all over the lehigh valley and he is the only psychiatrist who has listend to me. When I feel a medicaition is not working he evaluates me and takes me off that medication. He follows up to ensure the new medication is working. Other providers I have seen just added a new medicaication to the mix until I was hospitlized. I would reccomend Dr Zamanek to everyone. The office staff are extremly helpful and the wait times are never more than 5 min. Lehigh Valley Physicans group has always been helpful with billing issues. Don't believe the other reviews on this page this is a top notch provider in a top notch hospital / physican group!

My relative has been seeing Dr Z for 22 yrs after moving home to our parents and having a manic episode. She has declined over the years. Zemanek does not encourage family participation in treatment and has always required my calling him to tell him of a setback. Does not help patient get into social services. Does not see losing jobs as a problem. Does not see being dumped by sig other as a setback. Does not see having altercations with fellow employees and family as a problem. Does not order tests needed to determine organ damage from psych drugs until after damage done. Does not monitor closely when switching psych drugs. Does not take action when patient calls in the middle of the night panicked but needs family to call later and insist on an appt.

I left him once because I thought he didn't care about me, just listened and gave out meds, every visit was just blah blah blah. I realized that he is the best thing that ever happened to me, I opened my heart and let him finally see the real me, he has done wonders with me, I feel safe while I am with him and I really think he does care about his patients, but has to remain professional. He has my loyalty, love, and upmost respect! I will say it again, this doctor is the best thing that ever was put in my path!

He hands out prescriptions without actually listening, and cares more about making his money than assessing or handling any problems. I've been with him 3 years (mostly because I was a minor and had no choice but to stay) and he kept me on medications that led to other health problems, and rarely made changes even when they were needed. I think he lost all his good intentions to the system and had just become another cog in the machine.
