Dr. Kent Frank Argubright, MD

Dr. Argubright never met me but constantly had his nurses tell me, over the course of 9 months of pregnancy, that I was morbidly obese. I may have been a size 12-14, at 5'7, when I first got pregnant. However, I cut out sugar in the first month because I was told it was high. I mean, ALL SUGAR. I also walked three miles (a lot of it in sand) a day six days a week. As a result, I never had a high sugar test AT ANY TIME IN THE LAST EIGHT MONTHS OF PREGNANCY. I also got down to a size 8 and was not even slightly overweight on the BMI charts, except for the baby, who was growing at a healthy and normal rate. However, Dr. Argubright, who is no Kate Moss himself, constantly had his nurses telling me I was morbidly obese when I clearly wasn't. We would look at the charts together and they would say, "I don't know what he's talking about." The nurses also made a point of constantly checking my blood sugar in a snide, accusatory way EVEN THOUGH AGAIN, I DID NOT HAVE ONE HIGH BLOOD SUGAR… AFTER THE FIRST MONTH OF PREGNANCY. Even in the first month, it wasn't that high! Dr. Argubright even had them do it at the hospital. Because of my age I was going in all the time. That's a huge amount of totally unneccessary blood sugar tests, but I'm sure they billed a tidy amount to my insurance company. Overall, don't go to this guy, his diagnoses were constantly wrong and he asked his staff to denigrate me based on inaccurate information. Going to Perinatal Associates became the downpoint of my entire pregnancy, and I would have switched except with my insurance, I would have had to drive to Albquerque three times a week while holding down a full-time job. I did like the other doctors, but the information the nurses provided me from Dr. Argubright was wrong, discouraging, and disrespectful. If my daughter or sister would pregnant, my advice would be to avoid him at all costs.
