I have had many doctors and I would not! Recommend Dr. Brown

I've been seeing Dr. Brown for treatment since 2006. Although his "bedside manner" is a little stiff, I do trust his opinion and background in treatment. His only downside is that he only accepts BCBS insurance. I have seen another nurse practitioner because of a change in insurance and felt that Dr Brown had a much better handle on the fewest amount of medications to treat.

I do not recommend this doctor for psychotherapy. You will talk to yourself. Not a good doctor. You will be stuck and pay a lot!

Dr. Brown is the most wonderful doc ever. He takes excellent notes and asks about both recent issues I was having and even goes back to check on past ones. He has a terrific bedside manner. Always understanding and never looks down on me for how I feel or what I'm thinking. I tell everyone who asks me for advice on a doctor to go see him. He has never pushed meds on me and asks how I feel about the ones I'm on. I would continue to see him even if my insurance changed.

Dr. Brown is a very thorough doctor who takes great notes within each visit. He listens and understands challenges. He's willing to make modifications to meds when necessary, but requires the patient to also be proactive as part of the treatment process. This is to be expected with any decent and experienced psychiatrist. There is no "magic silver bullet pill" as some patients would like to believe. "Cocktails" take time and patience. It took me over three years with other doctors to finally get it right, but I was willing and listened. I would suggest being patient with your psychiatrist. They only know about you based on the information you provide them.

He doesn't care about patients. He missed-diagnostic me and that make it worse. The staff are awful as well.

SAW HIM A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO AND HAD A MISERABLE EXPERIENCE. HAD VERY DIFFICULT TIME GETTING HOLD OF HIM DURING TIMES I REALLY NEEDED HELP WITH MEDS. HE WAS VERY BELITTLEING AND UNCARING. I AM WITH NEW PSY. NOW WHO IS MUCH BETTER.

He diagnosed me with bp2 I took the meds perscriped, when they did not work, he literally got upset and told me that " lithium can not make you depressed". I asked what it feels like to have to much seratonin, he responded with you would feel lack of emotion. I began to explain that is what I felt. His exact wors back to me was "come on". He began to tell me I was a mental patient and needs to be on meds. When I told him yes, but these made me feel worst than ever. He began to scold me, and said that I am treating him like the patient! And I am acting like the doctor! After that he asked me if I wanted to keep the appointment I had set up, and I said, I don't know cause I have never been talked to like this. He said, there are other patients that would want your appointment so just tell me. I then said yes cancel my appointment. And he hung up on me. Definately would not recommend this doc to anyone!! He is degrating and gets extremely offended if you do not respond to you… medication correctly. It is unfortunate to have medical professions like Kenton Brown in practice expecially working with sensitive matters of psychiatry.
