Dr. Kerren H Elder, MD

I wouldn't give a star, but this unfortunately requires one. My dad goes to the Bluefield ER for possible pneumonia, and they run tests and decide he also needs a catheter for a urinary issue we were unaware of. Here comes this joke, Dr Elder. We leave the room, and as they put in the catheter, my dad yells in paid and reaches out to grab something. He grabbed the jokers arm, and he the joker said, YOU BREAK MY ARM, I'LL BREAK SOMETHING ON YOU!" Then jabbed the catheter in as hard as he could, hit the prostate, and caused bleeding in my dad's urine. This guy needs to change careers. He has no compassion and no personality. He should be ashamed of himself, because my dad is probably not the only one he's abused.

I went to the er out of concern for a fever I could not get to come down. It went from 99.8 to 102.4 in 2 hours with medicine. Dr. Elder was short to the point of borderline rude with me. He asked 3 questions and listened to my lungs. None of my complaints were respiratory, I did however state I was having ear and throat pain, he checked neither, despite noting in his report that he did. I never saw him after that. His diagnosis was vague and despite having no idea whether my temp had come down, discharged me with instructions to treat the fever (which didn't work to start with, hence the reason for the er visit).

I went to the emergency room because I was having chest pain. I was going through a lot with my anxiety, and had recently had a severe panic attack. I wanted to make sure everything was fine and I was healthy. Unfortunately, I got this joke of a doctor. He basically acted like I was there only for drugs, and that I should have went to my regular primary care physician. He should not be practicing medicine and should have more compassion!! Awful doctor and if you see him, run away!!

Dr Elder listens to his patients and is caring and compassionate to the needs of his patients, he thoroughly assesses and makes sure your comfortable, the care he provides is excellent and he is a great physician!

Dr. Elder is an excellent physician. He is knowledgeable and has great bed side manner.

Dr Elder seen my son after an ATV accident and was quick to see him, control his pain, do tests, and explain the plan of care for him. I would recommend him to anyone and definitely hope that if we ever have to come back to the ER he is there!

Excellent care provided, listened to my complaints and addressed them with courtesy and compassion. Spent time telling me what the plan of care was and the explained the results found. I highly recommend him! 5 stars all the way!!!
