Dr. Kerri Ann Bewick, DO

I would like to thank Doctor Kerri Bewick DO for her excellent knowledge in the field that she has chosen to work in and would like to comment that after seeing as many Doctors as i have in 40 yrs and that's many, i can only state its my opinion that she is one of the best. She took care of me this morning at 7:30 am for my examination and i left her care today, fully happy with the care i received from her and knowing that if i need anything else she will be there for me and my family, she is a wonderful well trained physician in her field of expertise. I see a lot of doctors considering I have many medical conditions, and by far Dr.Bewick is the best doctor I’ve ever had. She was more than reassuring before my colonoscopy. She was patient. She was caring. She went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable.

To the person who's review is titled "No Communication", did you decide to go to another doctor? If so, who are you seeing and are you happy with them? Thank you.

Just like the previous review we found Dr. Bewick to be a very compassionate doctor. Very attentive during office visit. From our first meetings alone she gets 5 stars. My senior father went to her after being referred to her from his oncologist. He was diagnosed with a lung cancer that metastasized into his lymph nodes around and possibly in his stomach. At the point of seeing Dr. Bewick he was getting scheduled to start a round of chemotherapy. He was having severe stomach and back pains. Inability to eat hardly anything. Throat hurts eating and stomach severely feels engorged and painful with just the littlest amount of food. He has lost a lot weight, So she did get him in very fast for a EGD and sigmoidoscopy. Her thinking he could have a reflux problem and/or possibly a slew of other problems. We discussed some of the pains being extreme indigestion/heartburn like. And so far all the OTC products have been ineffective. She mentioned one or two possible things she could prescribe… for that pending the results of the tests. Again 5 stars for this. A few days in her office after the procedure she gave us the news she found his stomach and esophagus enflamed and a definite infection in throat and what looked to be infection in digestive tract. It appears there was no cancer in the stomach.She took biopsies and would send them out. And prescribed a antibiotic for the throat infection. After that it has gone down hill. After 2 1/2 weeks of not hearing from her or her office I had to call to get the results from her assistant Robin. Some good news and many unanswered questions about some not so good news. Dad is about to start his chemo and we want him to be able to eat, during these treatments. The expected nausea is going to be enough to deal with. Robin did not have the answers so she said she would pass on our concerns to Dr. Bewick. 2 days later we did not hear back from Dr. Bewick. I called again and got the "I will let her know" again. By this time Dad's throat still hurts to swallow so thinking throat infection has not improved. Still no call back. Called the next day and asked to talk to Dr. Bewick directly. Robin says "she is doing procedures so could she (Robin) help" I expressed our concerns once again and again reminded her dad starts chemo tomorrow. What does Dr. Bewick want to do about the severe reflux, inflammation in throat and stomach, infection ect? She will have Dr. Bewick call after she is done. 5 hours later nothing. I have my Aunt (a RN who is guiding us through the system) call and leave a message for Dr. Bewick's assistant pleading for a response from the doctor. Still no call back. I've been up since 2 AM. Worrying that I have to take my father to his first chemotherapy today and not being in the best possible condition to tolerate what he is about to go through. Not knowing if the Doctor is ignoring our pleas or her assistants are not giving her our messages or aliens are intercepting the messages. I pray he gets through this.

I saw Dr. Bewick 3 times. I agreed with the comments that she is compassionate until I had an experience before going for some tests. The day before the test I had some issues and didn't know what to do or what to take. I called the office, I had to leave a message. I called at 9am and didn't get a call back until 3pm. Dr Bewick's assistant called me back and could not answer any of my questions. I asked if Dr. Bewick could call me back. She said she would give her the message. I never received a call back. 2 weeks later I had an appointment with Dr. Bewick. I told her what happened and that I was angry with how my situation was handled. Dr. Bewick looked through her notes and said her assistant did call me back. With how I was feeling that day I called, I had my phone with me at all times waiting for a response. There were no calls, no messages. She then asked about an old work number they had on file. She said the message could have been left there. I told her that phone number is… no longer a working number and hadn't been since I retired a year ago. I was then told by Dr. Bewick that she is a specialist and not like a primary care doctor! So just know that "specialist " are above and beyond calling a patient back. They get paid pretty good money and for what? I was appalled at her response.

Dr. Bewick was very knowledgeable and compassionate. Understood my desire to have no anesthesia during my colonoscopy. She talked me through the whole procedure. Very professional!!

I wasn't feeling well for so long. Dr Bewick took the time with me took the process of tests I never heard of and I received a call a day the next day saying I needed to get to hospital. Without her I don't know where I would be. I went to so many Dr's and they all told me it's nothing. After my week hospital stay I was so much better. She is the best!
