Dr. Smith did a remarkable job on my pancreas. He then fixed a hernia few months later, and is fixing another this month. I have complete faith in this man and would recommend him to anyone. Love him forever. Great caring doctor, and one I have utmost trust and faith in.

I've been wanting to write this review for some time, but in the back of my mind, was waiting until our "year out scan" before I could tell the world about Dr. Kerrington "Kerry" Smith and his brilliant hands. My dad was diagnosed with an incredibly rare, incredibly large tumor in the top of his small intestine - the duodenum. His first surgeon scheduled the surgery and decided against it due to the difficulty. He didn't know if it could even be removed. Thank god he passed the surgery to Dr. Smith, given the tumor's proximity to the Pancreas, his specialty. After seeing the urgency from his scans, Dr. Smith got him in and on the operating table within a week. Seven hours later and Dr. Smith and his team removed this tumor described as "the size of a baby's head." He was able to avoid a full whipple by the skin of his teeth and was able to get away with a partial. He also delivered the news that in one to two weeks, he would have been inoperable and incurable. Thank god we got to him… when we did! He was sympathetic and delicate explaining that the type of cancer was very bad, but that we were also incredibly lucky that the tumor was contained and had not spread. He explained the most likely treatment options and even lightened the mood with a joke or two. I kept him there, along with my family, for 30 minutes at 8pm, peppering him with questions. He was so kind. And funny... What really sets Dr. Smith apart is his genuine care for his patients and their families. I was up visiting dad on a Saturday afternoon when I see all 5 foot 5 of him standing in the doorway in jeans and a t-shirt. Checked on dad, showed us how to clean his tubes at home, etc.. Apparently he lives close by and sneaks out on the weekends to see his patients! Seriously? I think he tells his wife he's grocery shopping, but I'm guessing she knows better! So, here we are almost one year to the date of the surgery. After a brutal, brutal surgery (Roux-en-Y), feeding tubes, 6 months of chemo/radiation and another 4 months of two types of chemo to attempt to prevent a recurrence (it was an adeno carcinoma - no bueno), dad had his year out scan today and I am happy to report there's no sign of cancer. I am not certain we'd have the same result with another surgeon. Want a doctor that's polished and by the book? Find someone else. Want a surgeon who is funny, direct, caring and a little crazy with "magic fingers" as I adoringly called him - he's your man. Thank you, thank you, Dr. Smith. I will have my dad for a lot longer than I would have without you.

This Doctor has saved my life. Performed a life saving Whipple Surgery, one of the best in the country. Also, one of few who performs this very difficult surgery. He follows through, and is in constant touch post surgery. Genuine about his care for patients and their families. Is there 24/7 when and if I need him. Love this man, my life would not be the same without him. The Best of the Best!
