My father's primary care physician recommended my father see a gastroenterologist. After much research, I came across Dr. Ashby. All his reviews stated what a caring, thorough, and knowledgeable Dr. he was, and the reviews are 100% true. In this day and age were a Dr. comes in with an Ipad/tablet in hand and barely makes eye contact. Yet alone having them call you after your visit to see how everything is going is literally nonexistent. The moment Dr. Ashby walks in the room he makes eye contact listens to your concerns and explains everything thoroughly. After a ct scan, Dr. Ashby knew my father's symptoms had to do with an enlarged prostate. Even though Dr. Ashby was out of the picture at this point he called me several times to see how my father's care was going. You see my father is a very stubborn man and getting him to agree to medical care is not easy. Dr. Ashby listened to me not just regarding my medical concerns about my father but about my mental well being. My father was in… a very urgent medical situation that required emergency care and surgery. I was blessed to have Dr. Ashby to speak to about it not just as a Dr. to a patient conversation but as a concerned human being to another. Eight years ago, at the recommendation of my trusted long term primary care physician, I went to see Dr. Ashby for the first time for my first colonoscopy. As most people are somewhat apprehensive about this test, I was somewhat nervous to meet him and discuss my particular situation. Immediately, I found him to be professional, approachable, and very friendly. He explained the procedure in easy to understand terms, answered all of my uncomfortable questions, and put my mind at ease, giving me the confidence I needed to have it done. The procedure went fine and he explained everything thoroughly to me so that I could easily understand the great results he achieved. As a result, I have 100% confidence in him and his work. With my family history and other factors, I have had two subsequent procedures and each experience has been as excellent as the first. He has my very highest recommendation.

This was my first visit. I was referred by my Endocrinologist .I found Dr. Ashby to be kind, smart and thorough in analyzing my health issues. He planned tests and follow-up. I feel that I am in good hands.

I took my mother to several gastro doctors and no one seemed to be able to diagnose her problem. Most doctors also believed she was "not a candidate for surgery" because of her many health issues.
