Dr. Kevin James Carey, DO

I called due to a tick bite and symptoms afterward. The blood test was negative, but no one even called to tell me. When I called I was told nothing they could do. I spent a week unable to do anything due to the symptoms. I was never given an appointment to see if there was something else going on. This is (was) my family doctor. Myself and any other human being deserves to be treated better than this.

He is a great doctor, and the physician's assistant and nurses are just as good. But: you have to be willing to navigate around the terrible (often actually yelling) office staff, much time wasted over clerical mistakes, long waits, and burdensome practice policies (mandatory wellness visits that will never, ever be billed to your insurance as such, getting sent to urgent care or ER over minor things if they can't see you). It's with a heavy heart that I'm looking for a new Dr.. Very competent and caring medical professionals operating as best they can in an extremely dysfunctional setting.

Been going here the past yr and only have seen the Physicians Asst and never the Doctor. They never call for follow ups or reminders neither do they let you know of any test results till you call and remind them yourself. Patient/Doctor relationship is very very poor. Finding a new Physician and would never recommend to anyone.

I like Dr. Carey better than any doctor I have ever had. His sense of humor was my favorite thing about him. He looked after my health issues with a close eye, but could always make me laugh. A doctor visit was actually a pleasant experience. I moved to North Carolina but I couldn't convince him to come with me.
