Dr. Kevin Scott Denny, MD

I have a very uncomfortable childhood memory of what was supposed to be a routine checkup with Dr. Denny. My mom was even in the room. I was not asked for permission, given reason for, or given warning of what he was about to 'inspect'. Unless it is life threatening, do not EVER let your kids doctor touch them without their permission.

Doctor Denny isn't our family pediatrician, but we have seen him for our fair share of sick visits with both children. Our now 2 year old had pretty much constant ear infections, which put him on a revolving door of antibiotics until he met the criteria for tubes. Dr. Denny always explained his decisions regarding our son's care, and was patient with us. Our daughter was born a bit more complicated, but Dr. Denny helped us go through all of her specialist reports during a pretty tumultuous period. We absolutely love our kids' primary care doctor, but if we didn't have her, Dr. Denny would be our first choice.

So he isn't my child's primary doctor but he saw him for a sick child visit. I had to bring my 3 year old with me as well and he was being a little wiggly in our waiting room. So the whole time, I'm listening to Dr. Denny explain to me everything I need to do with the mediciation he's prescribing for my child. Dr. Denny was so hyper focused on the fact that my 3 year (not my child being seen) was wiggling ever so often. He even felt the need to scold him and continuely point it out. Even though I was able to keep him in his seat and ignore whatever he was trying to do for attention. And what is with this man writing stuff on paper towels and handing it to me ? Am I the only one ? I just think that is so strange, could we break the bank for some scratch paper ?

I do not know why this Doctor decided to be a Pediatrician. I am not sure he even likes children. He seems annoyed by most human beings. If you like matter-of-fact interactions with a doctor and intermittent doses of fake interest - he is your man.

Dr.Denny is a wonderful doctor! He takes time to answer any and all questions. He always puts me at ease with any concerns I may have. He never leaves the room without telling me to call if I need anything whatsoever. He is very sweet and gentle with my little one. So glad we found this office, its filled with wonderful people!

This doctor had no compassion or understanding when our daughter was dying. He repeatedly argued with the hospice nurse's recommendations and insisted we bring our child into the office when she was days from death, on oxygen and with pneumonia. After she passed away, we never heard from him. It's been almost ten years and I can still vividly recall him arguing against home health, hospice (which we had to fight for) and shrugging his shoulders saying "its the beginning of the end" for our daughter. Accepting that was the case was not the issue, but a doctor who expresses no compassion towards a child/family in that situation is deplorable. The rest of the staff were wonderful.

ABSOLUTELY fantastic doctor!

Associates made a critical misdiagnosis of infected hip joint. After multiple trips to this practice for examination of an infected skin abses on knee, three of the pediatricians did nothing to test or provide "standard care". Despite request for a culture of infection, the Dr did nothing. Four weeks of infection and loss of mobility in final week, yet pediatricians recommended no blood work, culture, urine test. Dr. based decision on the resolution of skin infection after weeks of treatment. however "standard care" would require additional tests of infection to avoid spread of internal infection. No way of knowing if infection was STAPH or MRSA because no culture or blood test was taken. Result: child was admitted to ER after 48 hours of low grade temp and immobility, and immediately diagnosed with a Septic Hip Joint. Infectious Disease Dr connects Hip Infection with skin infection on knee. Three surgeries and six weeks of IV antibiotics, five days in hospital. Permanent scars and… frightened child. Parents believe all possibly could have been avoided had the three pediatricians taken a culture of skin infection and provided "standard care" when first visit by child and mother.
