Kevin P Dougherty, PT, DPT

Kevin has a strong clinical interest in treating ACL injuries, as well as other common musculoskeletal injuries that can be successfully treated conservatively and without surgical intervention such as rotator cuff tears or meniscal tears to name a few. Kevin received his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Slippery Rock University. His post-doctoral studies include credentials as a certified Manual Therapist through Evidence in Motion and becoming a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy. Kevin also received his Sports Metrics certification designed to reduce injury rates in adolescent athletes by proactively addressing deficits in strength, motor control, and/or technique. Other clinical interests include post-operative ACL rehabilitation, neurophysiological effects of manual therapy, and management of tendinopathies. Kevin also advocates for incorporating Blood Flow Restriction Training (BFR) into daily …practice with patients to maximize training effects in patient populations unable to tolerate traditional strength training, whether it be due to recent surgery or a deconditioned state, to help augment their physical therapy program. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys exercising, playing hockey, and spending time with his family.
