"I are writing this review with a heavy heart following the loss of my beloved aunt under the care of Dr. Kevin Mayor, MD., a cardiothoracic surgeon whose approach raised serious concerns throughout the course of treatment. From the beginning, there were troubling signs. Dr. Mayor, MD displayed a concerning combination of overconfidence and uncertainty—often speaking with bold assurance one day, then contradicting himself the next. It became clear to us that he was not entirely sure of the path forward, yet pressed on aggressively with interventions as though no doubt existed. This overzealousness in his surgical approach ultimately contributed to a sequence of complications that led to my aunt's passing. We understand that not all outcomes in medicine can be controlled, but we also believe that humility, collaboration, and caution are critical qualities in high-risk specialties like cardiothoracic surgery. In this case, a more measured, team-oriented, less profit seeking and… patient-centered approach might have made all the difference. While the hospital staff showed compassion and professionalism, we cannot ignore the grave consequences of what we feel was misguided confidence and a lack of transparency on the surgeon’s part. We hope this review serves as both a warning and a call for reflection; not out of anger, but out of the hope that future patients and families will be spared the grief that we now carry."
