One of things that deeply impressed me about Dr. Kevin McGrath was his great skill in gastroenterology and internal medicine. But I don't believe that is his defining quality. That, I would say, is a fierce and relentless commitment. When I was in the Presby ICU with a GI bleed, he would not let me go until he had seen the problem solved. Even though his testing did not reveal the source of the bleed, and he had to pass me along to Interventional Radiology, he was still in my ICU room every single day strategizing with me. And when they finally rushed me--artery burst and blood flowing at a frightening rate--down to the IR operating theater, Kevin was back in my room encouraging me to hang in there and telling me, "This can be our moment of opportunity." I have been seeing Dr. McGrath for several years. He is the best gastroenterologist I have ever seen. He always takes his time with me, listens to everything I have to say. He cares and looks at the entire picture, mentally and physically. My gastrointestinal problems are not nearly as bad as they used to be and I have him to thank for that. I tell anyone who is having problems with there gastrointestinal system to go see him.
