Dr. Kevin John Mcguire, MD

I will likely live the rest of my life with nerve damage thanks to Dr McGuire. He completely botched my surgery and failed to understand what was actually causing the problem. He then called me and, after admitting that he looked at my MRI for the first time while on the phone with me, gave an entirely incorrect diagnosis and suggested a second surgery after looking at the MRI for under two minutes. Luckily I switched surgeons and hospitals and discovered Dr McGuire had completely misdiagnosed me. Although my second surgery was very successful, they could not undo all of the damage that Dr McGuire had done. He is arrogant, dismissive, and does not take the time required to make accurate diagnoses. Avoid him at all costs.

Dr McGuire has a very pleasant demeanor. I had spinal surgery with him some years ago that was very successful! He relieved my pain! God bless you.

I was one of the first patients that Dr. McGuire had after his arrival at Beth Israel Deaconness in Boston. My initial consult with him was personable, honest and direct but my symptoms weren't very conclusive. A week later, I arrived in the ER, unconscious, with all systems tanking, and no one could figure out the cause. Dr. McGuire was called down, being thew last physician I had seen there, only a week earlier, and he decided to follow up on a surgical procedure we had talked about. Once I was open, he discovered I was filled with sepsis, everywhere. It took 2 lumbar surgeries, and two cervical surgeries, posterior and anterior, to clean it all out. I was at death's door, and in intensive care for 3 weeks. I owe my survival to him, and am extremely grateful. I can't recommend him highly enough.

Since my c6,c7 spinal fusion, I have been pretty much pain free in that area. I now need another fusion in my lower back. Because of my dealings with Dr.Kevin Mcguire I am not afraid of this procedure. I just hope I can get him to do this surgery as well.
