Dr. Kevin P Morrissey

I did not have the privilege of being Dr. Morrissey's patient, but some years ago, my dear Aunt did. She had intestinal cancer and Dr. Morrissey's work prolonged the length and quality of her life. But he did more than that. I was going through some papers recently and re-read a hand-written letter that Dr. Morrissey wrote to my Mother, to comfort her and our family. It was one of the kindest and most thoughtful letters that I have ever read, and showed great insight into my Aunt, our relationships and love for each other. The Doctor did more than treat the patient, he cared for her family and sought to help heal us in our grief. Quite frankly, I think his letter should be shared with medical schools as an example of compassionate care. It was very moving to read it, even decades after her death. Thank you Doctor Morrissey, for your skill, your compassion and your kindness.
