Dr. Kevin D Plancher, MD, MPH, FAOA, FAAOS

Dr plancher is the ONLY orthopedic doctor I will ever see. A visit with him is very very thorough and complete. You may have to wait a bit but when he is with you he is totally engaged in only you and your needs. I have had multiple needed surgeries done by him and the results are outstanding. His staff is professional knowledgeable and truly concerned about Getting you the best results possible. He is the BEST!

I have received excellent diagnoses, procedures and care at Plancher Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. Dr. Plancher has performed two unicompartmental knee replacements (2006 and 2014), and a shoulder replacement (2018). I am pain free with complete range of motion in each joint since each surgical procedure, and fully capable in my chosen activities. Terrific staff, great followup and guidance throughout.

I had gone to him for shoulder surgery after a ski trip and he made an insensitive and joke with racial undertone. He made to take lots of test and later when he found out that I had an insurance he referred me to another practitioner. If you had to refer me than why waste my time and money? Avoid him at any cost.

Dr. Plancher was my "2nd opinion" doctor. He completely disagreed with initial diagnosis and re ordered an MRI. Literally everything he suspected was damaged ended up being 100% correct after diagnostic imaging. Some mention an arrogance in their reviews, and yes he has some. But I rather the doctor preforming a surgery on me be 100% confident in their abilities than a doctor who says "well let's cut you opening for an exploratory exam" like my first doctor. Thank you so much doctor Plancher for an excellent surgery and a mostly pain free recovery.

I already knew that Dr. Plancher was an exceptionally talented, careful, and comprehensive diagnostician and surgeon because of his excellent work with several members of my family, some of whom had complex cases. (Those stories are worth another 5 stars -- even more if that were possible!) I had never had the need to see him myself until recently when I fell while hiking, landing on my knee. I treated the injury myself with ice and anti-inflammatories, but the healing was slow, and I became concerned that I had damaged it more than I knew. This was an issue because I was training for a 60-mile fundraising walk -- a walk I had been training for for 6 months -- and needed to know that participating in the walk wouldn't do additional damage. Time was of the essence -- I had only two weeks before the event -- so I called the office and asked if they could squeeze me in -- during a week with two holidays no less. They moved heaven and earth to get me in. Dr. Plancher and his team were… thorough, spending a great deal of time with me. After an x-ray and MRI we discovered that I had bone contusions and could participate in the walk with a brace, anti-inflammatories as needed, and some common sense. The walk went really well, and my knee felt strong during and following. Thanks so much to Dr. Plancher and his entire team for helping me realize my goal and keep my knee safe at the same time.

Dr. Plancher is simply the best - he quickly diagnosed my problem, the prep for surgery was through and careful, surgery and recovery went without a hitch and three months after my partial knee replacement I was hiking over very difficult terrain in the Galapagos.

I was well prepared for my partial knee replacement by Dr. Plancher and his staff I needed no pain medication and was mobile without assistance in 11 days, better than before surgery in two months and without pain and limitations in three months.

Dr. Plancher performed my knee surgery. Nearly 18 months later I still have chronic knee pain, swelling and occasionally my knee gives out all together - yet Dr. Plancher insists my knee is 100% perfect. He literally refuses to even explore the possibility that there's still an issue with me knee, going so far as to call me a fool for not agreeing with him. He might be a skilled surgeon, but even the best surgeons cant' fix everything; however, Dr. Plancher is too stubborn to admit that.
